I was inspired for this painting by Kate Orman's wonderful EDA "Year of Intelligent Tigers".There's a powerful scene in the book, where the eighth Doctor, shorn of his hair commands a storm... It just had to be painted.
Kate is my favourite 8th Doctor writer, along with her writing partner Jon Blum. IMHO they both capture the eighth Doctor's character perfectly and write such powerful, cinematic scenes, I love to paint them!
Must go back and work on this again some time. I can see all the faults now!

I finally read this & loved it. Ive always liked Kates work......loved the huge temper tantrum he had bashing the violin, lol!

Looking through your gallery, I somehow knew there would be a piece in which the 8th Doctor was relieved of his clothing a little. Hah!
Excellent work though. I always thought Paul McGann should've gotten a TV series.
