Every year a few marathon running friends of mine run in the Disney Princess 1/2 marathon. Two years ago they asked me to make them princess costumes they could actually RUN in for long distances.

For 2010 I made Belle and Jasmine running costumes.

Belle had a budget of $35 total for time and material, so hers ended up a bit shorter than ideal, but she seemed happy. Bodysuit running base, with covered/finished seams to prevent chafing. Draped accents, gems, hidden pocket for runner's gel etc...

Jasmine had a bigger material budget and went with a modified harem style pant. Again, no rough edges and I did not use any elastic on the waist/ankle bands. Hidden pocket, beaded trim, matching headband.

The ladies posed for pictures all over the parks including with their respective characters.
