Description We drove into Lancaster county, Pa about a week ago. And I spent the car ride shooting pictures through the windows. Unfortunately I don't have much to show for it. Only a few of my pictures were satisfactory enough to post.

My aim was to get a picture of at least 1 horse-drawn buggy, or at the very least a horse in a field. This isn't a horse, but these are Amish cows. And as a bonus a very very old Pennsylvania barn. Apologies for the power lines. Takes away from the Amishness of the scene.

I'm pretty sure those grain silos aren't Amish anyways.

you'd be surprised actually. Most Amish farms have silos like this here. You'll even see some houses with solar panels

from what I understand Amish culture is focused very much on family, and a lot of their rejection of technology is based on keeping their lives centered on their family and community. So they use just enough enough to keep things going, but reject things like cars, electricity in their homes(Solar panels are only on barns and to keep machinery going), televisions and internet
