Description I like black and white... I think its much more challenging than normal colour work because you only have around 250 hues with which to portray an idea which you'd normally have atleast 16 million colours to play with. I've never been fully happy with any of my B&W work until now but I think this mostly works. Take a lookie and comment if you like Many thanks!

The shot is off a lonely coastal bench in Hermanus, SA.

Very nice indeed = ) I have to agree with foo222 though, black and white seems much easier to work with, less things to worry about in the shot.

Cool thanks for your comment! I agree with you guys that its easier in those regards... the technical regards. I just feel that in terms of conveying a feeling/concept its a bit harder because B&W shots can be SO lifeless if done badly...

Ahh I get what you mean, kind of like taking pictures a flowers and making it black and white, have to compensate by putting in a hue of some sort.

Really? I find B&W easier because you don't have to worry about colours. That forces you to look at form, structure, light and shade much more. I find I shoot much better photos that way in B&W. I'd say this picture is probably better in all those areas than your staircase pics.

Quite true now that you put it that way. Many thanks for the comment I think I'll be doing some more B&W work

Good plan, doing B&W stuff really does improve a wide range of skills.
