You've got a bit of a blur there, in the water, but that's to be expected. The subject itself is sharp, and in focus. Did you take this from the water, though? Or dod you zoom?

At Longbeach there is a rock band about 20 meters from the breakers so i positioned myself on that and zoomed at 10x onto the subject. The difficulty with surf photography is focusing - the are constant moving towards you and this requires continuous focus adjustment.

Interesting! I'm never usually very quick with my focus, and I don't have an autofocus or anything like that. I also find it very difficult staying still at a high zoom level. Much more to be impressed about

Yeah, i ran it on a very fast shutter speed to freeze frame it so shake and movement wouldnt matter that much.
