Here's another Transformers movie-type head design. This time, a personal favorite of mine, Soundwave. I wanted to preserve as much of the classic look (shapes, colors) of the character while updating it for the 21st centry. I wanted his face to have a lot to do with sound, obviously. I tried to include some audio type imagery in the face. I tried to image that creepy deep voice coming out of all the vent/speaker shapes on his face, not from just a plain mouth.Hope you enjoy.
Photoshop image based on a rough pencil sketch. Total time: about 4 hrs

This is ten times better thn the Bayverse version of him. I love Soundwave and kinda don't know whether I do or don't like the movie version. I love how you strived to keep the original look of him, this is truly fantastic.

You know when you look at the decepticon's logo Soundwave's head looks almost the same.

Cool! Shoulda used that in MB's TF2.
Is it wrong for me to think that he looks a little like G1 Prime? Probably just the faceplate thing.

As Soundwave is one of my absolute favourites of the entire TF-world I have to say that I love your work with this. This Soundwave really gives of that creepy-mighty-carisma-aura that I always imagined him to have. And the Lazerbeak design on his crest on the helmet is just so awsome. I almost didnยดt recognice it first

I'm not sure it looks monstrous enough to be a movie Decepticon, though. Shouldn't he have a mouth full of razorblades or something?

I've seen many different renditions of the new Soundwave if he were to be placed in Bay's next movie, but I like your rendition of his head the most. I've seen others, like ~MitGas ' version and in my opinion, that one looked a little too evil and reminded me way too much of the overly-complicated and very disgusting face of Megatron. I've bypassed his for yours now.
Haven't seen any others I like. I like the fact that you've kept his original shaped and such too without straying too far off of the 'realistic' path, although I'm still not much for the 'car'... I still think he should be a boom box in the movie, much like Frenzy was, but Soundwave could be, like, a master DJ's sound system or something to encompass his massive size.

Soundwave has always been my personal favorite, too. I love how you made his head in the shape of the Decepticon emblem, because Soundwave would be the ultimate Decepticon. With his ability to jam every radio frequency across the spectrum, combined with his ability to literally read minds, he'd be one supreme 'bot.

Soundwave was my favourite Transformer next to Megatron. You've translated him really well here, I LOVE IT! You should be on the movie's sequel production (Soundwave's gonna be in it. I hope Megatron returns)!
