Ruebane threw himself utop of the defenseless wolf. His large paws pushed Lawson’s chest into the ground, using his weight to try and suffocate the Arynian.

”Look at me!” Ruebane bellowed.

Staring down at Lawson, he met him with an intense gaze that was panged with agony. ”You see what you have done to me? You must have known that I would always return the favor.” With that, an insidious kackle released from Ruebane’s lips. This wasn’t him, not usually, but the sheer power he had in this moment took control of him. In fact, the Vektrani took in this moment for a few seconds too long. In his amusement, he had left his throat completely exposed.

Pandemonium erupted in an instant. Growls ripped through the air, the metallic scent of blood not far behind. His first instinct was to go after the silver and red male, but thankfully Nero intercepted him at the last minute. Two more wolves stood before them, leaping into battle, when his gaze landed on the third.
For a moment, he forgot how to breathe.

He knew immediately. This wolf was responsible for his scars. The muscle on his left shoulder twitched, a phantom pain burned beneath his fur. Countless nights Lawson had been plagued by nightmares of that fight. They were young, naïve, caught in a battle they didn’t understand and fought simply to live. He could still hear the blood chilling scream, taste the fluid from the enemy’s eye on his tongue. His stomach lurched in remembrance.

What was the ex-Blutwald member doing here? Could they be behind the kidnapping?
