Taken at the Akron Zoo - Akron, OHThis is one of the Chilean flamingos sitting on the ground, giving a very coy, cute look to those of us standing around watching them. Notice the downturned face while the gaze looks up toward her admirers and the ever so slight turning of her body to show off it off to its best advantage!
(Boy won't I feel silly if that was a boy flamingo...)

Thanks! I'm guessing my passion for animals probably comes out in my photos, but I just love spending time with them and watching them and it's so much fun to then photograph them! Now if I could only take landscape shots as well as you! I know...practice, practice!

I know what you mean and where you are coming from. We all like to branch out accasionaly but we all turn or return to our passion.
Landscapes are easy - you do a lot of watching out the window looking at the weather conditions, occasionaly a fast drive to preferred location, then all you need is a decent landscape, decent or different lighting conditions, decent position and a big dollop of luck, all yes, and a wide angle lens comes in handy.
That is what I did for my Night Journey shot from last night. Saw the evening light developing, jumped in the car and drove 6 miles, took 4 shots and home again. Went out at 1810 and was home again by 1845 and the shot I picked was taken at 1832.
