The lioness looked back at her son, I need to get him out of here. He just lied there, that same dull emotionless gaze. Her mate and pride leader was busy growling over something, but she wasn't paying attention. Suddenly he unsheathed his claws and headed towards Ahadi, their son, but she stepped in the way. Eventually the large lion burnt himself out and stormed away. Without hesitation she grabbed her son by the scruff and sprinted out of the cave, to the edge of a large river. She put Ahadi down and grabbed a piece of wood that was curled at the edges forming a log. The lioness placed it in the water holding it down with a paw. Ahadi this river leads to a large pride, where my sisters ran to! Ahadi shivered violently as rain started to pour down. And for the first time in a long time he spoke. Y-you can't mean I'm leaving you! he squealed nuzzling up to her leg. She tried not to cry as she stated that this was the only way for him to survive, and she promised she would eventually find him. The lioness herd paws thundering in the distance giving away she was being tracked. She gave him one last lick before placing him in the hollowed log. It took all her strength to nuzzle it away and her son took off. She made eye contact with her son for the last time before her own pride members attacked her.
