Ah, there he be!
Because I said I would. It was time to make a new reference sheet for 'ol Rayner anyways. He was all weird and disproportionate looking on the other one, and it bothered me. I also changed his horns a little, because I couldn't draw them with any consistency. But I love them, so I tried to keep them as close as I could.

There once was a fellow called Good Sir Rayner. Actually, his name was just Rayner, but he tried to be very good and proper. Like a proper sir should. Unfortunately, Good Sir Rayner had a bit of a temper, and whenever he was hungry, or scared, he quit trying to be a gentlemen and would instead attempt to eat everyone for no good reason.
So you see, Good Sir Rayner wasn't really much of a good sir at all (except around his wife).

(pronounced Veld)

Gender: Male

Element: Air
Rayner is a master of his element. He takes such joy in using the wind to his advantage that he nearly abuses it. He's always got his nose to the wind, alert for whoever might be near.

This is perhaps a part of what has led to his emotional difficulties. As Air is an emotional element, his stability in that department takes a bit of a beating from overusing his ability. While he did train to control his emotions, he is frequently known to have some anger issues. Rayner, as an individual, is not a particularly angry fellow. He's not really very threatening at all. But when he does get frustrated, those feelings seem to be magnified beyond his control. It is likely something he will live with and have to work on his entire life.

Despite being apt in most areas of Air manipulation, Rayner is not able to use the healing portion of his element very effectively. He generally prefers to walk around in injury until he finds someone more capable, rather than attempt to heal himself (or others).

Height: 9'7
Rayner is a bit of a lightweight. He is just under the average spectrum of height for a male shinlai, and just below normal weight as well. In most cases, this isn't much of a hindrance to his daily life.
Because of his lean build, Rayner is a fast runner. He does, however, have difficulties running uphill and over long distances. Rayner was built for speed, not stamina.

Rayner's fur is incredibly soft. Particularly on his head, neck, and shoulders it has an almost feathery down like quality. Not as soft as a chinchilla of course, but still pretty soft. If he had enough of a liking for humans, he would probably make a very comfortable steed (setting aside the fact that he's not a horse). Unfortunately, he still sheds.

At one point in his life, Rayner was very close to his older sister. When they were little, they were a perfect model of hos sibling relationships should be. Of course there were the little arguments, the days when Rayner thought it would be funny to the things any annoying little brother would do. But she was his best friend.

As time went on, with the sometimes violent arguments between their parents, he became more distant from his sister, and from his belief in Daila. Since Tornado left, he's done his best to avoid her.

There is nothing, no one in life Rayner could possibly love more. Ryshka is his inspiration, his best friend, and his wife.

Rayner originally met Ryshka during her journey away from home. When he realized that she was a follower of Daila, he feared losing her and neglected to mention his own position in the revolution. They traveled together as friends, and Ryshka invited Rayner to visit her hometown. He happily accepted, but with the travels came new knowledge about both of them. Rayner learned that Ryshka's mother had been killed by a Darkblood named Lycuvayu ((c) forrgotenrose ) and was eventually forced to admit to being a Darkblood recruit himself. But admittedly with far fewer radical practices.

It nearly tore their friendship apart, but in the end they became even closer, and love blossomed. Because of their opposing positions, they aren't able to travel together as often as preferred, but the knowledge that he will see Ryshka again always brings Rayner a bit of hope that perhaps war will never break, and he might run from the Revolution to return home again.

Allegiance: Darkblood
Rayner never had a very strong belief in Daila, and when the Revolution began and he left his original home, he became an easy target for Darkblood recruiters. While he may not be a lover of violence, he agreed with many of the Darkblood ideals. However, his main reason for staying a part of the revolution was fear. He is terribly afraid of most of the Darkbloods, and at least this way they're less likely to kill him.
