I close my eyes deciding if I should risk the jump down three stories or hope that he's bad with a gun...Before I can make up my mind I hear the distinct sound of gun being fired. I wait for the pain, when I feel nothing I open my eyes.

The that was aiming his gun at my heart slowly falls forward. He lands with a thump and a pool of crimson blood quickly forms around him. The man who's wallet I had earlier swiped is standing on the other side of the roof. His gun is raised and the end smoking.

He walks towards me, briefly glances at the man's motionless body and continues towards me. My hands continue to shake as I raise and aim the gun. He approaches me with caution like I'm a wild animal that's ready to attack.

"C'mon"

He gently grabs my upper arms and helps pull me upright. He grabs the gun out of my hand and throws it backwards. My body continues to shake uncontrollably. My legs feel like Jello after after running for so long and my mind races from all the adrenalin.

He wraps his arm around my one shoulder and I shudder. Out on the streets I have learned to trust no one. I also don't like being touched, call it instincts. The man begins to walk off the roof and gently eases me along. Suddenly I feel lightheaded and the world begins to spin. The last thing I remember is staring up at the dark cloudy sky.
