Description
don't ask how i got the titleOculation is a made-up word (i believe)
i saw eyes in it, so yeah (ocular, oculation, get it? lol)
Anyways, this is the first of two fractals which i made in Apop today
to start off GimpDome's new Apop section
so i wanted to render the .flame thing i got
anyway it's not great, but the .flame has potential i think

actually..this reminds me of Dante's Inferno all the swirling colors and the tortured angles...it reminds me of a purified Hell..if that makes any sense...it just seemns to evolve and gaze through you and moan silently all while going in creations circles....nice

thanks
I didn't use any scripts on this one....
just transform, variable, variation, weight, and Master Scale tweaking

you're very welcome, i'm always fascinated by how ppl make those things based on math

heh lol i don't even understand the math
I just sort of see what the different things do and tweak them how i want them from there

Amazing work
I hope to make stuff that good someday XP
Still kinda new to abstract type stuff

thank you!
If you want to start with fractals, i'd say try Apophysis
it's fairly easy to use and gets you started with the abstract realm

I been working with Paint Shop Pro, and figuring out how to do them on Photoshop XP
But I will certainly look into that, thanks

Cool, i used to have a trial of PSP
but it ran out
I don't think Photoshop is a fractal program though :/
i could be wrong: i don't use it much
You're welcome

I have been confused on exactly what the difference was between fractal and anything you'd do on PSP or Photoshop

The fractal art category has a pretty good definition IMO
"Gallery: Fractal Art
Place images created with fractal generating software here. Fractal artwork consists of images created using complex mathematical equations compiled in programs such as Ultra Fractal, Apophysis, Fractal Explorer, and Chaoscope. These programs are dedicated to formulas that cannot be easily explained using traditional geometry. Fractal images traditionally represent self repeatability, in that they can be zoomed in an infinite amount of times without losing their overall shape, or are comprised of smaller versions of the overall image. Geometrical images that are not mathematically based and are hand drawn in programs such as MS Paint and Photoshop should not be posted here."

ahhhhh okay
So its basically like a whole seperate field of abstract art. I actualy had Ultra Fractal trial, but I reciently deleted it XP
Think I might give it a try again

Yep, it's a whole new world!
I'd like to try Ultra Fractal as well
So far, i've tried out 3 fractal programs
Apop is my favorite in terms of versatility
but i like how the fractals come out in MindBogglingFractals a lot
You should, fractaling is tons of fun![/cheesyphrase]
