They were small white creatures that lived in the air between heaven and earth, and were ruled by the good god Frey, who lived in a palace in Alfheim.

They were beautiful, kind creatures, pure and innocent, and they were so small that they could fly completely unnoticed among the flowers and butterflies.

Since they were very fond of dancing, they often slipped to the ground along the moonbeam to dance on the grass. Holding each other's hands,

they stood in a circle, forming "fairy rings", which could easily be recognized by the richer green color.

They were very fond of music, especially the melody they call the Dance of The Elves. No one, having heard this melody, couldn't refrain from dancing.

If mortals who heard this melody tried to play it, they could no longer stop and continued to play until they fell breathless from exhaustion,

unless they guessed to play the melody in reverse or someone cut off the strings of his violin.
