Description Reflection nebulae are not glowing plasmas but are visible because of light from nearby bright stars scattering off of dust particles. The nearby star or stars are not hot enough to cause ionization in the gas of the nebula but are bright enough to give sufficient scattering to make the dust visible. Since wavelengths in the blue are scattered more readily than red, reflection nebula tend to have a blue shading. (This is the same scattering process that gives us blue skies and red sunsets.)

As always...

I'm working on a tutorial that I hope to have finished by the end of the year (probably going to do the majority of the work on it during the christmas break). Hopefully the instructions provided there will allow anyone and everyone to do stuff like this so long as they have photoshop cs or something equivalent.

Sweet. I've got CS2 and always wanted to try things like this. The best I've done is a somewhat realistic planet, but that was fairly simple.

that was the way I started out. I just kept messing around with the program until I found stuff that made things look the way I wanted them to.

And I'll be doing some more tutorials later on to help explain the things that I do with CS

There are too many stars adn the black area in your nebula looks strange .
