ネヨ would technically be pronounced like Neyo, but ニヨ would be pronounced like Neo (Niyo basically).
But Neo, ニヨ, and ニオ are all so similar in pronunciation that I suppose it's just preference at this point.
You could alternatively do ニーオ for more of an emphasis on the /i/ sound.

Either way no need to go overboard for "Neo" in my book. I dont see the reason to say "Yo" when I can just use the "o" sounding character like in english

I am familiar enough with romaji that I read it as it would be pronounced in Japanese.

I like making them unique looking. (I was actually thinking of naming a character
Alex Myth because it sounds like 'Alex Smith' and I am dumb and think that's amusing)
