Sweet.
The Aliens pulse rifle is a classic.
You should be able to export that as an .obj if I'm not mistaken, though my usage of Maya is limited when I was in the process of learning while trying to make the Mad Max Interceptor.

I would now, however, this file is no longer compatible with my new version of Maya for some reason, Maya seems to crash when I try to open it.
Its an old model so it my have some issues.

Its not the same model, but even though, i am looking forward to that animation

I see lots of details! If this model was textured, it would look unbelieveable

It might, i made a while ago, and i see a lot of place for improvments on it,
I could just rework it soon, maybe even texture it then...

You have blender?

I'll download Blender and export that model to .obj, then i'll try to compare the two models.

Yeah, that one is a little old and could be re-modelled in a better way, i'll think about it

It almost looks as if the hand grip is a part of a detachable pistol.

Well, the rear handle and what I assume is a part of the firing bolt assembly are colored black, as opposed to the stock. It just gives an impression that the rear handle is able to detach as a pistol.

Good notice,
This weapon is a mix between a submachinegun and a pump-action shotgun, that may be why it gives such an impression.

by the way. if you are using maya, you can export it into obj format. that's pretty much universal... there is no textures, but it saves uv map...

I can try to export it to obj, although, i can't promise you that it would work 100%, last time i tried to export to non-native format it messed up the whole model.

well... i am a maya user so i am fine... but i was just tring to help you out... and as far as you problem. try deleting history and optimising the scene.
