This is an excellent image that is not only well done but very pleasing to view! Why? 

I think this is compositionally excellent with a very good visual flow. Specifically there is a reinforcement of diagonal elements as illustrated by the angle of the model's back, repeating / reinforced by the way she holds her her head, her left forearm and the book itself. The use of highlights guide the viewer from image right up toward her face where her gaze brings the viewer to the book and back along the highlight of her left arm in a circular pattern creating interest and keeping the viewer's attention staying within frame by the vignette. There is also a repeating pattern of the space / gaps created by the way he reaches for the page, that between her forearms and the geometry of the back of the chair. The dark hard edge of the table provides a subtle but effective and necessary contrast with the shape and form of the model. 

Needless to say I think this is a very successful image!
