Description
Here's something I put together after we did an episode where Jimmy and Carl were filming a Matrix type movie. I think Tarentino was actually voicing the Director in that episode.I did the posing in Maya and rendered in Lightwave. LW didn't have any way to instance geometry so all those Carls are actually separate positioned characters comped in. Today you could probably not only fit all that geometry in but render it in like 5 seconds. Times have changed.

I'm not sure if you're still here lol. I used to watch this show and it was a memory that is still etched in my Childhood. I've also recently saw The Matrix (its still really amazing though)... I think if I could recall, it reminds me from a Scene from The Matrix: Reloaded, where itΒ always makes me wonder why there's like a lot of Agents come out of nowhere and this fight scene turns out to be like..... one Crazy Battle XD
Its still a funny moment where, and looking back to like nearly a decade from this, its still interesting how rendering works and evolved over the years. I've actually wanted to try out renders or even do something like this, especially with your recent works, not only with this TV series that was a Spin-off of an Animated Movie but so much more. I wondered how the process worked at that time?
I do appreciated your works tho ^^

I'm really glad you guys like it! It's funny because I made this so I could have a cool JN wallpaper on my computer at DNA. It was also published in Nick magazine if I remember right. If I knew it would be so popular, I would have spent more time on it.

Isn't that always how it is? You create something for your own amusement, and people end up loving it. Then you look back and think, "crap, I totally could have made that better"...
I love the image though, it's hilarious.
They actually have classes that teach Maya at my college (I go to Brown University in Rhode Island); if I weren't scrambling to fulfill my requirements as an anthropology and archaeology major, I probably would have taken it long ago.
Of course, it's never too late - maybe I'll take it next year

Hey, I started it as a hobby in college and now I make a pretty darn good living making cartoons and video games. You're lucky to have classes that teach Maya. Back in my day *picture old-timer* I had to learn it on my own.
There are also some great dvds and such. Gnomon is a popular place for those. If you want an easier program to learn, try Hash's Animation:Master. That's what got me started. [link]
