She was restless for something newLooking for an open door to sail through
What lied ahead she didn't know
Mysteries and wonders? Or darkness and shadows.
Her desires brought her to a fallen tree
It reached toward the sun, it seemed.
Branches growing as far as she could see,
She stepped out with delight.
The aged wood, smooth beneath her toes,
Encouraged her towards the warm enveloping light.
What lied ahead she didn't know
Mysteries and wonders? Or darkness and shadows.
She showed no fear, not a glimmer of regret,
As she began her journey towards something new.
She had a feeling she would never forget.
It took her past the clouds in the sky,
The air gliding through her fingers and hair.
The earth fading behind her; she felt she could fly.
"Hold on tight," she heard a voice say.
"Promise me you'll always be careful,
Follow your heart, don't lead yourself astray".
The faint voice grew closer, seemed so near.
"You can follow your dreams or theirs,
Choose this path and everything will be clear".
What lied ahead she didn't know
Mysteries and wonders? Or darkness and shadows.
As she moved towards the voices, she saw them fall away.
A glowing elderly woman and a handsome alluring man,
Each welcoming her towards a different pathway.
Which one to choose? Such precious time.
The older woman seemed cautious, but comforting.
The man's devilish smile was an intriguing sign.
What lied ahead she didn't know
Mysteries and wonders? Or darkness and shadows.
She thought about her life as it flashed before her.
So sure of it all, she had always thought.
So many new ideas rushing through her mind as a blur.
The man offered her beautiful uncertainties,
The woman; a life of preconceived notions.
So she swallowed her troubles and set herself free.
She took his hand as he leaned forward.
"We can do anything your mind and heart desires".
He spoke as he held her and gave her his word.
The elderly lady faded in the distance as we flew.
"Always visualize what you want in life,
and with much more ease it will come to you."
What lied ahead she didn't know
But for the first time, her thoughts seemed to flow.
No longer were there restricted ambitions,
Only open doors of new ideas and imagination.
They rose up together and he showed her the universe.
All the stars and galaxies she never would have known.
She felt so immediately at peace as all her fears dispersed.
"Release all attachments to yourself" the man spoke softly.
"Everything always falls into place. Let go of your worries."
The man glowed like the sun as held her hands tightly.
In that moment she felt his fierce soul as he gazed into her eyes.
He put his hand on her chest and brought her in close.
What she was feeling was pure serenity, she began to realize.
What lied ahead she didn't know
But never again did she need to show,
Feelings of regret from lost ambitions.
Only open doors of new ideas and imagination.
