And the leader of the Ancient Rangers, it's the Gold Taurus Ranger. He's very confident and understands how important his power is, so he comes off a bit arrogant, but he can back it up with his power.I was thinking about his weapon as a broadsword of some kind.

I can't say I recall an arrogant character who's arrogance is justified; Usually they're just over confident, so I like that. I also can't recall the last time I saw a sentai with a cape

Off the top of my head, it'd have to be the sixth ranger from Lost Galaxy (Name eludes me at the moment) who had a cape. It's a shame they don't really use capes, or even mantles for that matter. I actually was planning on having capes for my Knights, but visually I thought they looked better without them. Who knows, with their armor modes, capes might have to happen!
Thanks for digging the personality of the Gold Ranger. I like to incorporate twists on concepts and I liked the idea that since he is the Gold Ranger, he'd have a swagger about him, and since he IS the Gold Ranger, he is the 'best' of the three.

I might have to review Linkara's lost galaxy retrospective as I can't say I recall that on his design. I know some of the armoured knights have it but I think they were more "Bangai" or extra hero characters.
Thinking about it, he does remind me a little of Prodigy from the Spider-Man Identity Crisis storyline and Slinger's follow on series (although reviewing his design maybe it's not as close as I recalled).

Prodigy always stood out for me due to his (albeit minor) role in Civil War. He, along with the other Slingers, are characters I want to see more of.

Ah, Civil War. My favorite Marvel idea that I felt was never executed to its fully potential (I'm an Iron Man fan by the way and still love CW). I know a LOT of people who despised Civil War and it's a shame. I feel it was Marvel's last creative cross-over in recent memory that felt like the consequences would truly impact the Marvel Universe. Oh well.
I never really got into some of the tie-ins for Civil War. I recall Iron Man and Ms. Marvel being the two I followed. (I'm pretty sure just about EVERY Marvel title at that point had a CW tie-in, so can you blame me?

I actually felt the unmasking of Spider-Man was one of the best parts of this storyline. Too bad it had to be undone far too quickly.
I'm sure you've heard this but apparently they wanted to argue the pros and cons for both sides of the argument rather than the "Registration good, Rebelling bad!" which we got, which in turn made Tony seem like a villain.

It was severely half-assed. It should have been equal sides, but then the writers just went too simplistic with "Oh look, Tony's hiring BAD guys on his 'GOOD' team" and "Spider-Man is clearly how we feel so his leaving Tony must mean Tony is bad and Cap is good."

Pretty much how I felt reading it. It's a shame because if done properly it would have worked well. Same with Secret Invasion in my opinion.
World War Hulk was good, but it did lead to one of the greatest C-List Marvel comic of the 00's - Incredible Hercules.

World War Hulk was okay, but I think I feel that way because of its short length. It was a nice concept, but I felt they should have played more with the emotion for Hulk. Also, I'm not a fan of John Romita Jr., so that might have affected me feelings for it.
I did get the first issue of Incredible Herc and really enjoyed it. Must find more...

I think the shortness played in it's favour. I also liked the fact the Sentry was used although I can understand why some fans would have preferred Thor.
And do so! That series contains a scene where Thor gives someone a purple nipple! What other reason do you need to read it?!

Thanks! I purposely didn't add birds, reptiles and insects, because they are all based upon mammals. It was more of a challenge and made my custom Sentai a bit more unique. I do have a dark ranger and he's the Green Mandrill.
