Description The 'sixth' ranger of the Kisetsugers, it's KisetsuStorm/ Weather Storm. Using the concept of seasons, I decided it was best to have a 'sixth' ranger who could manipulate each season into having a storm variant, so spring would be a rainstorm and in turn of having lightning abilities, he would also have water abilities to that of rain. I'll more than likely revisit this idea and post them.

Being a descendant of someone like Raijin, the tough-love Storm appears a bit later than the other Kisetsugers to test and see if they are able to successfully wield the powers of the seasons. Through some trial and error, the Kisetsugers are able to master the 'borrowing' ability of each others seasons and prove to Storm they are capable to defending against evil. Once he sees this camaraderie amongst the rangers, he joins the team with a much kinder persona. Being a descendant of a thunder god, Storm possess superhuman capabilities compared to the other rangers. This also makes him feel a bit left out prior to joining the group, but grows to have friendships with the fellow rangers.

Enjoy!

Let's see for storm your standard Raijin works if you just want to have standalone I can'tthinkof it combiningtowell with others. A thunderbird Β would be another suggestion. Then just choose seasonal animals like maybe a deer for spring.

Im curious aas to what mcah these 5 would have. Due to his being rlated to raijin, I'd assume his mecha would be something like the standard lightning god image. Β Howver I wouldh ave no ideas for the other 4 Perhaps they havea standard robot with 4 armor sts for each season?

I have never really put too much thought into the mecha ideas or designs so I'm open for any ideas. It's kind of difficult to come up with a mecha concept for a season theme.

Comparing this version to the one you did here - , it's interesting seeing just how much cleaner this picture is. Obviously I think it helps that this version is more complete but I find the colours are more vibrant, the lines crisper and the gold you used l think looks better. Speaking of his design, I do feel navy and orange go really well together. I also feel the colour scheme looks better than it did on Deathryuger, whom I felt looked a little odd (mainly on the arms).

Pose wise I think he looks awesome.Β  I think the pose does a great job of conveying the power he's possess (especially since he's a decedent of Raijin) in a very strong and striking style. I also really like his weapons and the lightning effect you did.

Finally on his personality, it reminds me a little of Ucchi's story, but without his quite comic friendly(/anxious...?) nature. In many respects I see this as the opposite side to that coin; not warming up to the other rangers, like he did, but requiring more than just Daigo fighting along side him to prove their strength.

And considering my own divine Sentai team, I may wish to borrow him and the other Kisetsuger...

I don't know if I mentioned in the 'rough' pic of Storm, but that picture was on a small piece of paper and is about a sixth the size of my standard pieces. I might come back to that method on some of my pictures.

I'm glad you approve of the 'beefed-up' detailed pic of Storm. It is one of my favorite 'sixth' ranger designs and I've been playing around with the morpher and henshin ideas as of late. I'm on a civilian form kick as of late, so don't be surprised if I show his 'human' form some time soon in the future.

I think I'm just a bit too stretched on ideas for making unique personalities for rangers. It is similar to Ucchi, but I like the idea of a more realistic, understanding that he failed in the past and everyone in his old life is gone due to the great evil, so he has trust issues kind of person.

Feel free to use them! I'd like to see where you go with them!

One thing i forgot to say in my previous reply, I'm actually quite keen on the morphers and henshin side myself recently. As I've been exposing myself more and more to Kamen Rider (although I've yet to actually start watching any), I find the idea of a belt based transformation device that requires some kind of gimic (slicing open a lock, putting in USB drives or a phone etc.) more interesting than what Sentai does. As much as I love Gokaiger the idea of a cell phone (even if the emphasis is less on the keypad) is a bit over done for my tastes. I am keen to see what morpher ideas you have for your teams and how the henshin/roll call process turns out as well.

And I should probably bust those out too. I do have morphers planned but I could never think of a decent way to draw them and post them. I'm sure I could come up with something. I too like gimmicky henshin devices, which is probably why I liked the Gabu Revolver + Zyudenchi so much. Phone's have been done to death and I think Kamen Rider has always had some bizarre yet effective morphers.

I think if you're looking for a decent way to draw "henshin poses", I'd recommend looking at Kamen Rider. To me they make more of an emphasis on making a striking pose as the rider transforms, rather than the more lengthy but generic angle Sentai does. I absolutely love the henshin devices in Kamen Rider W and I'm quite keen to watch Kamen Rider OOO next as I'm curious to know that one works (like W, it uses the idea of multiple items to transform the user into a specific rider). I think there needs to be more watch based devices. The only character I can think of is Viewtiful Joe, who himself is based on Kamen Rider.

Now that I think about it, that makes sense. The Nibanme sketches you did were much smaller than the main ones. And I have to say I think this is one of my favourite designs you've done so far as well (possibly tied with Arsenal Silver). As I said before, I think the navy, orange and gold work really well together and I think it offers him something more unique when compared to the rest, like Shinken/Samurai Gold.

And that does sound like a good backstory; like you said it offers a more realistic outlook or alternatively a darker one. I wouldn't say Ucchi's was necessarily bad but maybe rushed (which kinda makes sense when you consider they still had three more rangers to introduce). Perhaps there could be scenes when he's starting to warm up to the rest of the team, but a mistake happens that knocks his respect down a level or two.

I actually started work on a Divinger concept a few weeks back. I've been meaning to scan it and start adding in more detail as I do feel it is very bland at the moment.

To be perfectly honest, I think the fact that ToQger isn't too interesting for me is the main reason I've taken a break from sentai. I still have my bird team in my drawing bin and look at them every once in a while, but I'm not too bummed out that I haven't made them yet.

I know I mentioned the whole civilian form thing and I actually have some civilian forms completed, so I should probably post them some time. I guess I took that energy and placed it into Global Knuckle!

I felt Ucchi was a bit rushed but seeing as there were three more rangers, it's no surprise. I was never bored with Kyoryuger, and I enjoyed Ucchi.

Any luck with Divinger? I feel that it would help possibly having an e-mail link to send pics to each other without posting on dA. Might help out, so let me know if you are interested in that idea.

To be honest, I can't say I blame you. I've not watched any other series since Kyoryuger. I have however REALLY gotten into Kamen Rider since watching W and OOO, and find myself more interested in watching Wizard and Gaim than I am any other series. I may check out ToQger after it's over but I feel unlike Kyoryuger, it just seems to plod along and not really DO anything. However I do think taking a break from it, regardless of your interest in Sentai is a good thing. Maybe the final portion of ToQger or the next series will help re-ignite your interest. Global Knuckle, which I'll admit I STILL need to fully check out is a great concept with some great ideas and I am appreciating this change of pace .

I completely agree. Even if I felt the series banged on about how awesome Daigo was, it never detracted from the appeal of the series and I think the other male characters were arguably better developed and more interesting than him, which helped cement it as a better series. Meanwhile, from the clips I've seen and what I've read it looks like Akira is the only decent character in ToQger. Of course I could be mistaken and my opinion may change if/when but I'm not holding my breath.

I'd certainly be up for that; it may help get some of the ideas flowing again. I'm not sure if you have access to my gmail from the paypal transactions but if not it's pawcanada@gmail.com.
