Description
Been working on worldbuilding and wanted to illustrate a couple designs! So I jotted down a few things here ;v; When I'm doing this on a larger scale I'll probably do much quicker/rougher sketches, but this was a fun exercise! I hope everything I've written makes sense, I'm not 100% on my proofreading.
Feel free to ask questions too if this is at all interesting! It helps me to think things through
Holvat (porcelain wave)
One of many species of fungi in Yorshov with psychoactive properties. This particular species is used to create one of the most popular Yorshovian recreational drugs, and while its growth is legally restricted to government run facilities, there's a thriving illegal drug trade. Holvat is easily identified by its metallic smell and the formations in which it grows, looking something like a splashing wave of liquid, from which it gets its common name.
The substance it's used to create has stimulant effects and heightens emotional responsiveness while dulling physical pain, among other things. The fungi itself can be ingested for a mild high, but can cause serious nausea.
Echnyy Slozhen (swollen tongue louse)
A parasitic and partially soft-bodied arthropod that attaches to hosts similarly to a modern day Cymothoa exigua. The nymphs lie in the silt in shallow waters and mimic a small flatfish, Coleid, in order to parasitize the species that feed on them, which can be anything from fish to birds to unlucky land creatures. Immediately upon ingestion, Slozhen deliver a paralyzing sting to avoid being completely swallowed by their host, and will then work to embed itself against the base of the hosts's tongue, causing it to atrophy as they grow and eventually replace it in function. Initial parasites will develop into females, while any secondary Slozhen will embed into the soft tissue of the mouth or cheek near the female. They feed off of the hosts blood and mucous.
Coleid
A prolific species of flatfish that live along coastal waters to the south. Not a particularly notable fish, but a common food source for many local animals. They tend to bury themselves into the mud and silt.
Prokhale (torch string fungus)
A kind of fungi that's planted in dark areas where open flames or wiring electricity is difficult or dangerous. The mature fruiting body and spores bioluminesce, and when planted in the right environment this luminescence lasts for extended periods of time. In Yorshov Prokhale is planted widely throughout mines as a safe light source in the likely presence of combustible gasses. Collected in large quantities, the spores are also used decoratively.
Kylmokk
A semi-precious gem mineral that's similar in appearance to an opalescent material very popular with the Yorshovian upper class. Usually carved into jewelry, but sturdy enough to be used for larger accessories.

THANK YOUU I'm glad it comes across that way!
This world is pretty heavy on various kinds of fungi, I can't wait to develop them all further!

You made the mineral you came up with convincing, I like that. It isn't in some weird looking wannabe ore deposit, you show it in a vein like how it should be.

Thank you very much! It was really refreshing to try to illustrate that kind of formation, actually. I don't think I'd ever attempted it before this, and I'm glad that it comes across well!
