Description
Guess what I got for exmas?Yup. A tablet. After one and a half years of begging. Obviously, the only thing I can draw well without a reference would be the lighter (Which by the way, I've got about 30 others unposted on my old account).
Merry Christmas!

Use reference. You'll learn much more about lighting, shading, perspective and color palete if you'll use reference for first 20-30 drawings.
Make speed paints. 1-2h is more then enought for one picture, then move on.
Save every deviation to PC. Don't delete it. You'll see progress.
Don't use smudge tool/blur or any other effect. Just brushes.
Firstly make rought sketch, then define light source and then start painting.
Make base with soft brushes and details with hard.

Thanks so much for the tips! But I'm curious, how did you stumble across this deviation?

Well.. i sometimes check Digital Art/Painting & Airbrushing and sort it by Newest. I do that because there is a lot of talented people on dA, who have great skills but they are not "noticed" (they have 2k views or less) and so aren't their deviations.
And sometime i see people like you, who get tablet.. trying to learn something and so on. I try to give them advice before they give up.
Believe me, ther is A LOT of people who buy tablet and think that is easy to draw but they sooner or later find out they were wrong, they give up and trow tablet away..
Whenever you'll give up i suggest you to watch and more important -> listen to this video: [link]
He isn't best digital painter on dA, but he is one of best motivators.
