Spike the "Riders"AT with Spike-the-rider
Whadja know? I'm back with the "Riders" stuff! It's been a while, I'll admit that...
So this was kinda cool to do. Mainly because of the pose! Loving the pose... the background really helps with the kick too!
The only thing that bothers me with this one is that, not only is most of the signature hairstyle blocked, but the board as well! But I do hope the awesome perspective compensates for that.
BTW, the pic is stock of Guatemala City, I believe.

So I was casually browsing though art, mostly just replying back to favs and stuff, but then came across the commission you did for and went through your gallery.
Whoa.
I've been through quite a few Sonic galleries in my time here on dA, but it was truly a pleasure to look at your stuff; this gallery nabbed me and I think I've looked at almost every pic you have posted. What's more, is you seem to just keep cranking out the same quality of stuff. Normally I'll only get a few pages into a gallery before the old stuff starts looking sub-par compared to the new stuff (NOT saying you haven't improved, I would say you've improved a ton), but that you've always seemed to have a hand for drawing incredible pics.
This pic happens to be one of my favs in your gallery because of the stunning angles and totally unique viewpoint (which is boosted even more from the brilliant cropping). Although yes, it is kinda focused on his leg, I just get this wild-free feeling like I'm on a roller coaster at the top of the fastest peak, arms out, adrenaline peaking.
Totally love the upside down pic, which just amps up the explosive energy going on here.
From the wicked smile to the launched out hand, this pic just blows my mind. Talent in action

No joke, it's some of the best sonic fan art I've seen in terms of freshness. Sure, a lot of good sonic artists are good at coloring (even doing precise details, so many colors, thousands of layers of shading), but man that seems kinda secondary to incredible poses. And I say you win the award for most creative poses, too.
Tell me to shut up if I'm being a retard.
But yeah, must watch.

I think one thing is people are worried too much that, if they attempt a pose or design, it won't look good the first time. You don't have to post every single thing you draw here on DA. All I can say is you just need to try it out! I'm assuming you use wire frames in your first sketches, right?

You can't, OR you haven't given it a shot?
I used to just do everything free-handed. I hated having to erase stuff, took too much time. But I started having inconsistencies in my characters when I tried doing certain poses. When I post Stryder's comic, you'll see what I mean! I'd give it a shot if I were you. Sure, the first 3-5 times, it'll look and feel weird. But once you warm up to it, poses are like nothing!
