News of Giger's death struck me, like many of you, to the core. After all, he was, and remains to be, paragon artist so many of us were inspired by. I will not speak of his influence and legacy - those are for everyone to see.I knew it will happen eventually, and I knew what shall I do when it happens. But even though I had it in plans, I simply wasn't ready. How could I know when Giger passes away? Two days ago I was watching 'Jodorowsky's Dune' documentary featuring him, and he might have been dying the very same minutes.
News of the day to come were hard to take. With bitterness in heart I began doing what I had to do. I lacked skill to make my tribute to great artist look decent; I lacked knowledge of how to make it look like my eidolon's works; I had to shift my graphic in order to be able to work on it. Yet giving up was not an option. I respect Giger way too much.
Rest in peace, Hans Ruedi Giger. If there's something beyond, you're with Li Tobler now, and if not - you're forever in our memory.

Gorgeous shading but I especially love the composition of the image: the various elements really merge well together, making the scary figure of the alien change from something to fear to something to prove empathy for. That's a really great work!

Бегло прошвырнувшись по трибьютам более_лучших художников, понял, что не уловил.
Зато эмоцию вложил. И оперативно выдал.

Ну не всё же сразу. Просто техника исполнения не идеальная, но образы вполне подходят. Я бы сделал более контрастный, тёмный рисунок, с большим колличеством загагулин повсюду. Ну и полотенце никак не катит, нужен какой-нибудь кокон или саркофаг.

I admire H.R. Giger greatly but that image to me seems like no tribute, it just doesn't have the feel he was able to produce in his work. it looks too simplistic but I respect your intentions.

sure, in fact I feel the comment i made was unnecessary, for a one off it was good. Giger spent years making the art he did and nobody will ever be able to replace him. i was being too picky.

I've seen tributes of his artwork on youtube, even though I don't much about the man the guy is will always be a one of the best artists around

I admire the passion you put into a tribute to him. You really did this straight from your heart, didn't you? You really did do an exquisite work on it. You combined his bizarre creepy way of doing things with a lot of emotion and heart in it. It's simply beautiful. Thank you for doing this - it's simply a perfect tribute to a very unique artist who has left us.
