Description
Since we last visited GLaDOS and her Cube in Japan; in light of what had happened in Akihabara, GLaDOS had updated her own programming so that she can now understand and speak Japanese also. Only problem was that for some unknown reason, although she is thoroughly fluent in spoken Japanese, she speaks it with a Brooklyn accent. Now this is going to be hard to imagine as not many people are able to speak Japanese with a Brooklyn accent, especially since most people in Brooklyn don't speak Japanese ... well at least she can now communicate easily with her new Japanese friends Miku and Neru who for some reason can't help but get the giggles everytime GLaDOS says anything ... in anycase our story begins in Kerorin Town at a location close to the gaming arcade where they first met.

Dinosaur: ROOOOOOOAAAAAAAAARRRRRR ....
GLaDOS: What was that?
Miku: Neru farted ...
Neru: Did not !!!

All three girls peered around the corner to where the sound was coming from and sees the dinosaur lumbering up the streets as people quickly run for cover and cars do hard 180 degrees turns and drive away at speed. All except for three vehicles which where heading towards the direction of the sound.

The first vehicle was driven by Officer Yuki from the Local Prefecture Police who was dispatched to investigate the dinosaur sighting. She sees the three girls hiding behind a building acting suspiciously and so she stops to investigate.

The second vehicle was driven by Gumi with Alice out on their Kerorin Town Pest Control duties, and they came this way simply because Gumi took the wrong turn.

The third vehicle was driven by Rin, in her Road Roller which is very noisy and besides which she had her stereo on full blast so she couldn't hear the roar anyway, nor for that matter could she see the dinosaur as she was coming up a slope.

Officer Yuki: What's going on here?
Miku and Neru: Shhhhhssssshhhh ... and they point around the corner at the dinosaur. Officer Yuki, peeks around the corner and just as quickly ducks back.
Officer Yuki: OMG that's a dinosaur ... this Officer has an incredible knack for stating the obvious doesn't she?
GLaDOS: Also takes a peep around the corner. Observes the dinosaur and then makes a long distance phone call using the satellite phone installed into the Cube.

Reimu Hakurei: Is in town to help out at a festival being held at the local shrine. As usual, she's almost broke and only has enough money on her for the return trip and so she's starving. So she's scouring the pavements for dropped change and so concentrated in her search that not only did she not hear the dinosaur, she almost walks into it.

Glynn: Is just flying over the area and sees the dinosaur and comes down to investigate and also because, she reckoned correctly, that this would be a legitimate excuse for her to fire off her auto-cannons, which is something that she has not been able to do for weeks and has become a point of contention.

Chibis Miku and IA: Happened to revisit Kerorin, half hoping that they would be lucky enough to find another gigantic cockroach. Which could be a problem as this time they've come unarmed. They spot Miku and Neru as well as the dinosaur so prudently duck behind them. For the moment, chibi IA is prudently quiet.

Eventually everyone is gathered behind the wall, around the corner from the dinosaur who for the moment is just sniffing around, presumably for prey, but given the background stench, it has not yet detected the girls.

GLaDOS: Listen, I just called my boss back in the States and he says that Aperture Science will be willing to pay US$1,000,000 if we can capture that dinosaur ALIVE ... but before she could finish the others are already doing sums in their heads. And basically they each arrive at the following conclusion: US$1,000,000=US$100,000 each (since there were ten of them and GLaDOS obviously won't be a party to the bounty since she's a representative of Aperture Science).

Miku: (thinking) ... wow, I can buy 10 years supply of Leek!
Neru: (thinking) ... wow, I can buy a new cell phone plus a new scooter and still have change!
Gumi: (thinking) ... wow, I can spiff up my racer and still have funds for fuel!
Alice: (thinking) ... wow, my money problems are over!
Reimu: (thinking) ... wow, I can finally eat something other than Cup Ramen!
Rin: (thinking) ... wow, I can finally seriously invest in the stock market!
Chibi Miku: (thinking) ... wow, I can buy 10 years supply of candy!
Chibi IA: (thinking) ... wow, I can finally go shopping in downtown Tokyo!
Glynn: (thinking) ... wow, I can upgrade my auto-cannons!
Officer Yuki: Takes off her badge and opens the trunk of her Police Car. ... we're going to need weapons, come and get them.

The others are taken aback at what they see in the back of the Police Car. There was a LAW rocket launcher, several assault rifles, and a 50-cal machine gun. The few available weapons are quickly distributed with the chibis taking the 50-cal machine gun which they will operate as a team.

Neru: (suspiciously) ... why would you have military grade arms in the back of a squad car?
Officer Yuki: (sighs) ... well to tell the truth, these belonged to my father's collegues but I confiscated them with a mind to selling them on the black market. You see my father is a Yakuza boss, but he wanted to see that I didn't follow his path in life so he sent me to a good school, etc. and eventually I ended up studying at the Police Academy. Upon graduating I promptly arrested him and now he's in Jail awaiting trial and I need money to hire a lawyer for him. But lawyers are expensive and I can't afford very good ones on my Police salary, so to supplement my income I confiscate 'merchandise' from his associates and resell these on the black market for funds ...
Neru: So why did you take off your badge?
Officer Yuki: Well if I did this as a police officer I can't collect the bounty, but as a private citizen I can ...
Neru: But you're the one that arrested your own father right?
Officer Yuki: Well ... eh ... yes, I'm a good police officer. If I remember correctly, I also arrested you two before ... but seriously, I think there's more pressing demands at the moment and why are you questioning me?!!
Neru: Just checking ... and unlocks the safety on her assault rifle.

The 'Team' quicky formulates a 'Plan' and gets into position. The 'Plan' was a very simple one. The Cube, since it's almost indestructible, would sortie out and distract the dinosaur - well actually he had no choice, GLaDOS threaten to 'dismantle' the Cube if it did not comply. The rest of the 'Plan' was just to do 'whatever' was necessary to disable the dinosaur. And GLaDOS took pains to emphasis that the monster must be ALIVE at the end of the exercise as Aperture Science would pay only 10% for a dead specimen.

Dinosaur: ROOOOOOOAAAAAAAAARRRRRR ....
GLaDOS: Looking sternly at the cube ... go out there and distract it!
Cube: responds with his usual beeps and blips which for some reason sounded really sarcastic this time, but he complies. He soon has the monster's attention.
Dinosaur: ROOOOOOOAAAAAAAAARRRRRR .... at the cube. Sniffs it and then chomps on it with no effect ... well not entirely.
Cube: panics at being 'chomped' and begins to back up towards his companions at a rather quick rate and throws the 'plan' into complete disarray ...

Chibi Miku: OMG the gun jammed!!!
Chibi IA: You know, that's your problem. You always panic over nothing, this is really really simple to fix, you see all I need to do is to put my fingers here and unstuck the bullet. See that's all you have to do ... oh noes ...
Chibi Miku: ?
Chibi IA: DO SOMETHING MY FINGER'S STUCK WE'RE GONNA DIE HERE. I'M TOO YOUNG TO DIE HERE. OMG THE DINOSAUR IS GONNA EAT ME. DON'T JUST STAND THERE DO SOMETHING ... STOP LAUGHING ... I'LL KILL YOU IF THE DINO DOESN'T KILL US FIRST. Seriously, dying here is going to be so uncool, plus it's probably going to be painful too. Hey if I'm going to die here, you're going to die too ...

She grabs on to chibi Miku with both hands (notice that she got unstuck) and as the two chibis fall over each other somehow the gun fires off a long burst of 50-cal ammo, which tears into the Cube, this, however, shields the dinosaur from the bullets but sends the bullets ricocheting in all directions and causes panic in the Vocaloid ranks with interesting results ...

Neru: It's shooting at us!

Both she and Officer Yuki returns fire with their assault rifles and these also bounce off the Cube and some of these ricochets in the direction where Gumi and Alice are standing. Their van absorbs the shots, but this causes Gumi to exit the vehicle in a mometary panic. She then thinks briefly about re-entering the vehicle and attempting a kamikaze run at the dinosaur. A thought she quickly dismisses and she decides to seek cover.

BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG

Alice, being Alice returns fire and empties an entire clip of ammo. All of these also hitting the Cube and many of her bullets rebound in Glynn's direction.

BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM

Glynn returns fire with her auto-cannons and these also hits the now panicking Cube. Many of these shots rebound in Reimu's direction. Reimu's magical defenses easily absorbs the spent energies of the reflected rounds, but she unleashes a powerful magical attack which is also reflected off the Cube and is redirected at Rin's Road Roller, which although it easily absorbs the shock, causes Rin to floor the gas pedal causing the Road Roller to charge forwards sending road debris in all directions adding to the mayhem.

Miku: I got this!

She fires her M72 LAW but she is hit by a dislodged rock that was sent flying in her direction and this causes her aim to be off so the rocket also hits the Cube and it is deflected to hit Rin's Road Roller's front roller and as this is turning fast it puts a spin effect on the rocket as it impacts so it flies off at an odd angle ... specifically ... the rocket shoots straight up into the air.

GLaDOS coolly observes the rocket flying straight up and does some quick calculations to draw the following conclusion ...

GLaDOS: This does not look good ... (she adds unnecessarily)

The rocket begins to lose momentum as everyone looks up at it (including the dinosaur) and draws the same conclusion as GLaDOS.

There is a moment of stillness and no one moves. It seemed to last for an eternity ...

Putt Putt Putt Putt Putt

The rocket runs out of fuel, flips over and slowly plummets back towards the Earth to hit
... the Cube dead center
... and
.
..
...
KABOOM
BAM
BIG BANG
...
..
.
The Cube, however, being virtually indestructible, survives. It's dazed but otherwise unharmed.

Miku, Neru and GLaDOS end up on top of Officer Yuki.

Miku: You're not wearing any underwear!
Neru: Am too, but that's not me you're touching ...
GLaDOS: There's something squishy here (and squeezes some more) ...
Office Yuki: For some reason she's bright red. ... GET OFF ME YOU HENTAI DEVIANTS AND GIVE ME BACK MY UNDERWEAR!

Gumi ends up on top of Alice and both of them get tumbled into a nearby bush. As Alice's 'armored' suit absorbed most of the blast in their direction it saved both of them but the garment is temporarily 'disabled' so she's almost naked.

Gumi: Feels something squishy in her hands and then looking at what she's holding turns bright red ... Sorry Alice ... it was an accident!
Alice: Has an evil thought ... then makes erotic sounds ... which given the fact that no one can really see what's really going on since they're in the bushes, gives the others some seriously misleading thoughts.

Oh Gumi ... I never knew you swung this way ... (moan)

Gumi tries to disengage herself but Alice has her in a wrestle lock ... and continues to make moaning sounds which Gumi adds to as she tries to disengage from Alice. Then Glynn adds to the confusion as she finally tumbles out of the air (since she temporarily fainted from the explosion) to land on top of the two causing both Alice and Gumi to both make really loud misleading sounds ...

Rin is dazed but her Road Roller saved her from the worse of the blast.

As for the two chibis, they were fortunately behind the Road Roller when the blast occurred so other than a ringing in their ears, they were fine. But the blast did have the effect of keeping chibi IA quiet for a few long moments.

Reimu is thrown back by the blast into a collection of trash ... and finds a discarded wallet with 10,000 yen inside ... which she quickly purloins. Landing in the rubbish actually saved her from worse injuries as these absorbed her impact when she was thrown back. Looks like her Deity does look after her after all.

The surrounding area looked as if a bomb went off in the area. Well technically a bomb did go off. And as for the dinosaur, well, it too was shielded to an extent by the Cube when the rocket exploded but it was knocked unconcious and was quickly secured by 'the Team' and so they qualified for receiving the full amount of the bounty ...

Except ...

Of course ...

They ended up having to pay for the damage to the City and surrounding properties. Which meant that at the end of the day they were only able to pocket about US$100 each for their troubles ... well at least Reimu was happy, she could buy a lot of Cup Ramen with that much money.
