Collaboration with amazing photographer and best friend Maisie Blue

I went completely insane on this one, the last of the 6 to be completed. Some terrible colouring demon possessed me and had me paint the fur on the wolf in such a high level of detail... I don't regret it. I love the way it's turned out for a first attempt but my bedtime was pushed back til 10am because of this picture....

The mushrooms here are supposed to be Death Caps.

This is one of 6 photos Maisie Blue wanted to create for her Uni project. The original plan was for me to draw simple Quentin Blake inspired backdrops that would be back-projected on a screen. Unfortunately I had a car accident around the same time as when we wanted to start this project and I was unable to draw. I told her to find another illustrator and just to carry one without me (yes it was that dramatic) unfortunately the illustrator she enlisted let her down last minute and she had to shoot regardless. I think despite the hurdles she's done a fantastic job photography-wise! When the deadline was looming close I was well enough to help her complete the project so that's what I did! Unfortunately the initial idea of transforming the backdrop just wasn't working out. I'm not skilled enough to make these studio photos into something else so I changed the concept and instead of a recreating a scene I opted for illustrating the poems as a whole. Believe it or not I've consciously painted and drawn "messy" because they're meant to be Quentin Blake inspired illustrations... Yes, this would appear to be one of my weaknesses...
