Description The Secrets Of Sodor: Chapter 4 "Fire Hazard"

Hey, It's me Elijah again. I took the day off a few days ago, but haven't had the chance to write, and nothing eventful has happened. Until today... Douglas and I were pulling a passenger train along the Ffarqhuar Branchline, as Percy had not returned yet. Everything was going well. We didn't see Thomas at all that day, but we did meet Toby at Elsbridge. Douglas and Toby chatted for a while, as we waited for the guard's whistle. Toby mentioned that Percy would be returning soon, meaning we could go back to the Little Western. I was happy to know we were going back to the Little Western soon, but something felt incomplete. It felt like this mystery hadn't been solved yet. It felt like there was more we needed to find out. I told William, and he agreed.

At that moment, James passed by with some tankers. Douglas, William, Toby, His crew and I all could've sworn we smelled something burning. We got the all clear and went down the mainline. Eventually, we reached a yellow signal, and had to slow down and proceed with caution. That's when we heard it. The pained screams coming from up ahead. We pulled up next to a siding, and saw what happened. The front tanker was decimated and the one behind it was burning. James was trapped in an inferno that melted his boiler and cab enough to heavily distort them. Worst of all, his face was melting from the top down. The screaming eventually stopped, and all of us could tell why. Later, we found out more details. Not only had the fire melted the exterior parts of James, but the tubes inside his boiler as well. Both his driver and fireman died, and the guard was rushed to the hospital. James was confirmed to be dead. Not like anything can live with that sort of damage to it's face. They'll be sending him to the smelter's yard for scrap soon. A memorial will be held as well. As William put it, "This is the first. The first of our engines to be gone."
