heres a cool team for sonic riders, its made out of characters that only have appeared once or twice and then dissapeared forever, but not today! i have sonic riders revied them! and dont they look stunning XD all neat and trim in there new getups.
from top to bottom
Honey the cat - featured in the arcade version of 'sonic the fighters'
mighty the armadillo - appeared in 'knuckles chaotix'
ray the squirril - only in the arcade machine 'segasonic arcade'
i tryed to keep them looking reminisant to there original old forms, but tryed to update them as if sega had kept making them upto this very day ^_^
im very happy with how this turned out, i think i got the rustic style of the art pretty close XD

I absolutely adore this work. And you've mastered the style so well. I would like to do the same. Tutorial, please, SOON! All of the other tutorials for this style(there are about 2) aren't to good at all.

i dont know if a tutorial is possible ^_^;; thoses pictures there are the result of 1 sketch, so i didnt practice, i just drew them. i just took a couple of official artworks as reference pics and drew in the same style ^_^;;
all i did was draw most of it with a reasonabbly sharp pencil, and then did the outline with a softer thiocker pencil, scanned them in/cleaned them up/ increased the contrast abit/ajusted the colours of the lines abit and then slapped simple colour on it, just like in the official stuff.
hope that helps, i dont think a visual tutorial would be any better, the stages i went through were easy peasy. probably because i didnt run them through 'flash MX' and other programs like other people have done. to master this style, you have to be master of a pencil, not master of a mouse XD

Honey is on the list of forgotten sonic team characters... along with Heavy, Bomb, Bean the Dynamite/duck, Bark the Polar bear, Fang the sniper/weasel, Ristar, and Nights...

that was always a grey area really, May is the only certian, according to sega Mightly has never done anything that involves stregnth, thats just the unofficial comics view, mighty dose originaly have wings but being a cat could be fast... hmm i think its best not to dwell on whos doing what XD

Excellent! Awesome Sonic Rider team pic. I have only heard of Honey through the pic cjl1217's version of her. She looks awesome in her Riders outfit, so do Mighty and Ray. Looks like an offical Sonic Team art from the Sonic Riders game. Awesome poses, colors and expressions.

Anyway tis is a great rendition of those maybe forgotten characters. I like Honey's the best but the other two are great updates into the riders style.

Great job w/ honey. I think she's an awesome character and thare isn't much fanart of her. I might take a shot at drawing her maybe tonight or something. i like the tail you gave her, makes more sense than the wired wings, although they are cool. Keep it up.

yeah i thought the wings didnt quite fit, but im thinking of adding them to future drawing but not have them attached, just floating behind like they do in some animes, cause quite a few people seem to miss the wings XD

Very cool... however... being as I was the one who further researched Honey after SonicBlur's discovery over at Sonic CulT, I have 1 or two flaws to point out to you...
Honey may be a cat, however, she is tail-less, like a manx. This was most likely due to the difficulty of showing a tail while wearing Honey's outfit from Fighting Vipers.
Honey's ears, while they look cool like that, are incorrect. You must have been using =puritylf4 's drawing in the Sonic the Fighters section of Sonic CulT for this. Which she had done quickly because it was a small request I had made, and gave the CulT permission to use it for that section. I can pretty much tell that the eyes are far apart, however, Becky was only able to look at very few screenshots of the character, and pictures of what Honey from Fighting Vipers outfit looked like. Those are actually minature wings on her head, just like her counterpart Fighting Vipers character had on her headband.
The curved black thing, while it looks cool here, is also not entirely accurate. It was more like a collar on a jacket than anything.
My second oppinion though? For basing the image entirely off of =puritylf4 's drawing, it's simply amazing! I didn't know Honey would get this big. Also, she never did technically appear in Sonic the Fighters. She is unused, but far from only being a test character. My theories are posted over at the Sonic CulT messageboard, but I've rambeled on long enough. I love the style, very close to Riders. I definately gotta fav this!

'ill ramble too XD'
yeah i know about the wings and tail, as i have seen footage of her fighting, i know she can glide etc. when i was designing this new her, i wasent thinking 'ok there she is, lets draw her better' i was more on the train of though of what she may look like if she had gradualy evoloved over the course of the last 10 years or so. i tryed to mod bit here and ther to make her look more user friendly (not that she didnt look cool before XD) i sacraficed the wings do add a tail because i prefer tails to wings and it would look to cluttered otherwise and its just personal preference. the ears i think came out quite well, instead of having them like empty white triangles i made them into like proper ear fluff/tufts which i think would have happened anyway if she hadent been axed.
and now to the collar (yes i have an answer for everything XD) i do know its a collar on the original, but taking into account that amy rose kinda ripped honeys outfit, i decided to make honeys outfit abit more modern with the crop top and miniskirt and i added the black claw mark think to keep her design reminisant to the original. just like the skirt, she has the black and grey stripy thing i just made it longer and turned it into a tassel type thing
so there we go, im not saying your wrong, i know about the 'slap in your face' errors in the classic XD im just pointing out the desicions i personally made to come to the outcome i got. and im so ever so tempted to, since she is quite different obviously to the original, to just kinda claim this honey XD call her hunni/honie/hunny or summit XD

YAY Shmexy, sadly, I only recognize Mighty from any actual comics that I've read >I really should try and catch up some how< and I know Ray from a couple of web comix and such, but I've never seen Honey...I just got the game too, MAN, I'm gonna make my character into a gear rider now, I'm also thinkin up some fan art of Wave, she's pretty kool. The ONLY problem I have is that Jet is voiced by the guy who plays Ussop on One Piece XP
