Description Hello there, these guys are aliens requested by fellow deviant, dodoman1. Unfortunatly, the note he had kindly sent me with the descriptions has been lost repeatedly for some reason. And so, I apologize to DDM1 for not having the detailed descriptions I wanted to include. Still, hope you enjoy. (smile)

The short, round being on the left is a long lived species who rarely have interests outside their home planet. They ae surprizingly agile and fast on their flexible, yet sturdy legs. The mouth is located at the top of their compact body cavities, which are protected by armor plates.

The tall sophont in the middle is a humanoid-like species who evolved on a world with extreme seasonal changes in which the oceans would freeze every winter, then vaporize every summer. They possess four advanced eyespots on their craniums with two pupils per eye, giving them excellent vision in low light conditions. They are one of the oldest star-faring races for DDM1.

The entity on the right is a steriotypically violent, war-like race of pack hunting predators. Their native world lacked large bodies of surface water, but retained large caverns of water beneath the ground. They kill prey with their powerful, massive pincers, and below that on their chest, is the sonar-bulge used in sensing the enviornment. They can live realativly long, yet reproduce very quickly, as females lay clutches of several eggs at a time.

Again, sorry for not being able to go into great detail with them, I had really wanted that. Oh well, I'm still happy with how the actual drawing turned out.

Do you take any request when you have freetime or is a friend's business?

I do take requests when I have plenty of free time, which I do have now since it's summer. (smile) I'm currently working on three aliens for OJ94 at the moment, so if you would like something, please let me know whenever you feel like it. (smile)

Wow, I can imagine that a possible future career for you could be a creature-designer for games and movies. Those guys that make Metroid-games should definitely hire you.

The short creature is just ADORABLE, must be that it looks like a hybrid between a NGE-angel and a "Waddling Head".

And I agree with beastisign that the humanoid is a little bit creepy, it looks like it could bad touch somebody with those fingers.
I like the concept with its extreme habitat, but how does it survive it? Does it metamorphose into something completely fysiologically/morphologically different or does it encase itself in a protective hibernation-cocoon everytime the seasons gets too extreme?

The bug-horse is just cool with its disproportionally large pincers. Just as I find it cool-weird I think it is funny that the sensory organ is located below the head instead of above it, I guess that it has trouble looking up at the sky. I also love how it has holes in its limbs, but what kinds of purpose does such weirdness have? Wouldยดt it be easier for it to get stuck in things (like getting accidentily a stick in its "limb-holes")?

That would seem a good career. (smile)

They are pretty cute, huh? I was designing them to look peaceful.

Bad-touch? What does that mean? (curious) Anyway, I think I remember DDM1 mentioning them living in caves, I think. So you could ask him.

I guess there are no flying predators on their homeworld. To increase lightness, flexibility? I don't really know since I drew that for aesthetic purposes. I don't think it would be much of a problem, since they are said to evolve on a desert world, so not much stuff to get limb-holes caught in.

OK, one of the definitions for "bad touch" is: "An exclamation that usually forebodes a sexual act, more than likely an unwanted one".
To me that lizard-man is so creepy and funny-looking simultaneosly that I can imagine it as a woman-kidnapping space-villain in a stupid B-move.

Np i really like youre style a lot i need to practice a lot more, question do you look at different animals and stuff to help make up youre alien or do you just pull them out of the air? Just curious

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Transapient In reply to OblivionJunkey94 [2013-02-28 04:06:38 +0000 UTC]

Hmmm, I sometimes look to living (or extinct) animals for inspiration, but what I often do is simply sketch random things and shapes until I like how one of them looks, them I develop it from there.
