Description
The duo arrive at Roguetown Port with the help of the Mermaiden, and find the place in a sorry state. When they ask about what happened, the residents are universally relieved to see that the duo have returned. In their absence, chaos has ravaged Mythrealm, and an emergency meeting is about to begin at the town hall. Shepa suggests that they attend, as to get a situation report and decide what to do next. However, the meeting is more doom-and-gloom than even they were prepared for. Along with Misty's conquest of Mythrealm, starting with Sphinxy Sands, the de-populated Roguetown has its own problems. The resident Bandanawolf pack has already issued three verbal warnings about the lack of production, and despite attempted explanations, they threaten violence with their next visit if there is not sufficient food available. The townsfolk suggest that the duo investigate and try to explain, since they are the only ones capable of defending themselves. Discussion is about to begin when an altogether more troublesome problem makes itself well known...
Dobinxette has somehow managed to wind up in Roguetown Port and crashed the meeting. Upon seeing the duo, she explodes into rage and demands to know how they escaped her body. Before they can explain, she blasts the room with a blast of flame, scattering the townsfolk and torching the entire room, leaving it inoperable and the meeting temporarily delayed. That isn't important however, as Dobinxette announces that if the duo aren't going to return to her body, she'll just have to inhale them again, and the rivals prepare to battle...
Dobinxette's battle is divided into two distinct phases. Her first phase is relatively normal. She has a range of attacks that mirror those that she uses under the player's control, some of which are devastatingly powerful. However, upon reaching her second phase, Dobinxette will "gain the 'Fury' status effect" for the rest of the battle, doubling her POW and HP but halving her defence, as well as gaining a slight boost to SPD. Functionally, this gives Dobinxette 1100 HP overall, making her the first four digit boss in the game. In her second phase, Dobinxette also gains a second attack turn. Dobinxette has a number of attacks.
Her first attack is to try and punch one of the duo, requiring the target to jump over the punch, or on her arm to counter. Just as when under the player's control, her fist will briefly flash before she attacks, indicating the timing needed to avoid the punch. If the punch hits, it deals double damage and (assuming the target survives) can deal the 'Dizzy' status effect. Sometimes, she will lose her balance before punching, causing her to bounce over the target, requiring them to not jump instead.
Her second attack is to breathe a massive blast of fire that is too large and too long to be avoided by simply jumping. Instead, a new defensive move is introduced, where Shepa will circle above the duo, whilst they must jump and grab hold of her legs, allowing her to pull them out of the way. If they fail, the flames will deal massive damage, guaranteeing a KO on anyone hit, especially in the fury phase. If the target somehow survives, they have a very high chance of suffering the 'Burning' status effect.
Her third attack is to use her Anuu Assault attack, ordering a large group of Anuu to charge at the duo, requiring them to jump over the Anuu as they charge. If they land on an Anu, they will KO it, although this has no effect on the attack. If an Anu hits a character while charging, they can trip them. However, Dobinxette will occasionally set an Anu on fire, launching it into the air. After all Anuu have charged, any ignited Anuu will fall down onto the duo, requiring them to hit them back at Dobinxette with hammer counters. If a character is hit by an ignited Anu, they can suffer the 'Burning' status effect. Later in the battle, Dobinxette will ignite more Anuu.
Her fourth attack is to use her Anibuu Artillery attack, splitting the five Anibuu into a group of three, and two individual Anibuu. The two lone Anibuu will stand in front of each of the duo and fire magic blasts at them, either simultaneously or one after the other, requiring the duo to destroy the blasts with hammer counters. Meanwhile, the three Anibuu together will charge up a massive blast, and will then launch it into the air. Sparkles of energy will fall around the target, before the blast rapidly falls down on them, requiring them to hit it back at Dobinxette. If the blast hits, it will deal heavy damage and possibly deal the 'DEF-Down' status effect.
Her fifth attack is to try and inhale the duo, requiring both of them to rapidly jump on the spot to avoid it. By jumping, they can resist the pull. If Dobinxette inhales one of the duo, she will chew on them, leeching HP and instantly KO'ing that character, before spitting them out at the other character, requiring them to jump over them. If they are hit by or jump on them, they can trip. Later in the battle, inhaling a character does not end the attack immediately, and if Dobinxette inhales both of the duo, they will both be KO'd and the battle will immediately end in a failure.
Once Dobinxette is defeated, Shepa suggests that losing their "alliance" with Dobinxette could prove detrimental, considering the situation Mythrealm is currently in, and recommends that they find a way back inside her body, preferably with a freely-available escape route for them. Meanwhile, the townsfolk receive an unexpected visit from the Bandanawolves, and are quick to present them with Dobinxette's unconscious form. Surprisingly, the Bandanawolves accept their excuse, and move to dump Dobinxette somewhere where she won't get in the way of food production again...
Well... Oof... Is all I can say. Yes, some of the attacks have changed slightly, such as Dobinxette's punch being countered with a jump, and the new Anibuu Artillery attack replacing the old Anuu Artillery attack... But G E E Z... The big change is the 'Fury' phase. Yes, Dobinxette loses half of her DEF, but the doubled HP makes up for it, and she now has endgame-level POW. The whole idea is for the first phase to teach you her attacks, and for the second phase to punish you for sucking at dodging...
