Description With Dobinxette chugging down water at a somewhat-alarming rate, Shepa and the duo go to investigate a reaction occurring inside her body, arriving in the Combustion Zone, a pipe filled area currently filled with water, allowing the duo to swim to reach incredible heights. However, Dobinxette soon stops, trapping the duo behind a previously-floating obstacle. With Shepa's help, they explain that they need her to drink water so they can explore the area. At first Dobinxette refuses, stating 'her body, her rules', but Shepa notices the large number of pipes passing through the area, one of which could be a flame pipe. Shepa makes a deal with Dobinxette. If she drinks water as the duo requires, they'll fix her flames. With that, the duo head in, with the ability to fill or drain the room of water via Dobinxette.

As the duo explore the area, they encounter several new enemy types, the first of which is the Bubbly Gooleno, a slightly upgraded form of the regular Gooleno that heals slightly each turn when the area is filled with water. If not, they do not have this ability. Bubbly Goolenos retain their ram attack, but if the room is full of water, they gain a second attack, where the swim above one of the duo before dropping on them, requiring the target to hit them away with a hammer counter.

Burns are a new enemy that consist of a small metallic ball engulfed in flames. However, the flames will be put out if the room is full of water. If ignited, they can attack by rolling into one of the duo, requiring them to jump over the Burn. Jumping on it will damage the target. If a character directly touches a Burn in any way, they can suffer the 'Burning' status effect. Alternatively, they can spit fireballs at one of both of the duo, requiring them to hit them away with hammer counters. This can also deal the 'Burning' status effect. When put out, their only attack is to roll back and forth at one of the duo, requiring them to jump over or on it to dodge or counter respectively.

Jello-Wars are another new enemy type that float in water, but are vulnerable when dried up, making them the inverse to Burns. In both forms, they are weak to fire. When floating, Jello-Wars can attack by swinging tentacles at one or both of the duo, requiring them to jump over the tentacles to avoid the attack. Alternatively, they can launch a large ball of electricity at one of the duo requiring them to hit it to the other character with a hammer counter who must in turn hit it back at the Jello-War with their own hammer counter.

While exploring the area, the duo can learn the Fire Heart special attack, which involves Selena bringing out and activating a Fire Heart, allowing the duo to rapidly throw fireballs at their enemies. Additionally, deep into the Combustion Zone, the duo come across Anu, Sphinxette's Captain of the Guard, who they promptly rescue from a scuffle with a group of Bubbly Goolenos. Anu admits that he'd never expect to be rescued by them, before explaining (and demonstrating) his sudden mood swings. At one moment, he can be in fanatical rage that he is serving his queen from the inside by vanquishing the foul germs that inhabit her body, before promptly having a mental breakdown upon realising that he might never see the light of day again, especially if her body decides to finish them all off.

Shepa explains that Dobinxette's body doesn't seem to work like that, and they aren't anywhere near any dangerous areas. The duo then ask if he has seen any deeper passages, which he has. He leads them down a passage following what appears to be the 'flame pipe'. However, they come to the flame pipe, which is blocked by an enormous Chestnutter, obviously from Gloomwood Forests. Anu berates the creature for daring to block up the queen's flame pipe before it promptly grabs him with its tongue and eats him. The duo are rather humorously unfazed by this, and Shepa asks if it's worth rescuing him again. However, she gets a bit too close and is promptly eaten too, at which the duo freak out and decide that it's best if the Chestnutter is dealt with...
