Anyone who works in the Care Centre knows Mordecai, and Mordecai knows everyone who is and isn't allowed in. Originally intended to be Merilee's stage partner, Mordecai now serves as a hyper-efficient security camera of sorts. Wherever Merilee is, she is being watched by Mordecai, especially at night when nobody is around. Sometimes he gives her the company she needs, as she is effectively imprisoned in the Care Centre, while other times he simply watches...

As the predecessor to the T-Series Automat line, Mordecai possesses many of the same features, such as the telescopic limbs and incredible range of movement. Indeed, Mordecai spends most of his alone time suspended from ceilings or walls, and only comes down to ground level to interact with Merilee, report to staff, or for routine maintenance. He also possesses several practical features, such as the ability to record visual or auditory input, interface with facility consoles, and he even possesses a facial recognition database and optical scanner, just to make sure nobody unauthorised enters the Care Centre...

Unfortunately, he also possesses a distinctive lack of a voice synthesiser, and is thus mute. Care Centre staff quickly learn to listen out for the faint whirring of his servomotors moving, otherwise they might find themselves getting a nasty surprise when Mordecai appears right behind or above them. If Mordecai finds any twisted amusement in these antics, he does now show it.
