Description Moonracer entered the viewing deck where most of Cybertron could be seen from a large, bullet proof glass. She was eager for some alone time to clear her head from all her troubles, but then she noticed a familiar femme sitting at the end of the iron bench enjoying the view as well.

The blue Cybertronian car shrugged to herself and sat close by her friend on the same bench, greeting her with a quiet ‘hey’. Firestar smiled at her and shuffled closer.

“Hey there moon shine. Come here just to visit me have you?”

Moonracer smiled and gazed out the windows. She felt Firestar’s optics fixed on her face until the red femme looked out with her. As usual, the sky was dark and quiet, only the stars gave the planet an eerie light to the desolate streets. The metallic spires moaned slightly as age, neglect, erosions consumed them.

“Tragically beautiful.” She said, as if she was reading Moonracer’s CPU. It startled Moonracer out of her trance and she nodded.

“I bet Earth would be a lot more fun.” She chuckled.

“Don’t be so sure. We have safety in these tunnels. Optimus and his team really don’t have anywhere to hide, except for the Arc. And the Decepticon’s know where that is.”

The mention of ‘his team’ made Firestar slouch slightly. Moonracer immediately knew what the femme was thinking and regretted saying it.

“I’m sorry. I know you miss him.”

Firestar’s gaze didn’t move away from the sky. She sighed and nodded, not ashamed.

“Ya. I do.”

Moonracer put a comforting arm around her. She already knew the red femme missed her lover though she didn’t talk about it. But was a relief was that she and Inferno never bonded, so the femme wouldn’t go crazy from being too far about from him. Though she had her fears on long distance relationships, and Moonracer’s thinks that Firestar thinks so too.

“Don’t worry Firestar.” She reassured. “He loves you. And by the way he looks at you that’s not going to change.”

The said femme sighed.

“I dunno. Maybe. The last time we saw each other he said he’ll miss me, that’s not an exact ‘I love you’. And I know he’s not allowed to contact anymore in case he’ll blow our cover. And I’m not there to keep him loyal to me and...”

She sighed again. Moonracer diverted her gaze to her foot cuffs, trying to think of what to say. She squeezed the shoulder beneath her fingers and felt Firestar’s own arm snake around her shoulder.

“I’m sure he still loves you. And he’s not the one to cheat nor do I think he’s interested in any of the other mechs in Prime’s crew.” She smiled.

“Well there was a mech before me, and somehow I have a feeling he’s got his eyes on that red and white Lamborghini.”

“Who, Red Alert?”

“Ya”

Moonracer pfft-ed.

“Come on. You haven’t even seen them together. Don’t get so paranoid.

Firestar hummed.

“You sure? What about what happened to Chromia? Ironhide fell for the CMO. I’m worried that will happen to me and Inferno.”

She fell silent and Moonracer looked over at her friend with a slight frown on her face.

The corner of Firestar’s lip was pinched and she straightened her back. Wriggling in her seat a smile spread across her face.

“So.”

Moonracer frowned.

“So what?”

“You interested in any of the mechs in Prime’s squadron?”

Moonracer scoffed and her faceplate burned pink.

“What do you mean?!’

Firestar gave her a ‘pfft!’ of her own.

“You know exactly what I mean! So? Perceptor? Jetfire? Stop me when I get it right.”

Firestar giggled when Moonracer’s bar of pink flushed to red.

“Come on! Spill. You’re a hot femme and there’s some gorgeous mechs in there. There’s gotta be someone.”

Moonracer opened her mouth and flexed her jaw.

“Well…um…er…I…ah” She murmured.

“Yes?”

She cringed for a moment.

“I guess… I think…Jetfire is really nice to me. I think he may like me. I’m not sure.”

Firestar chuckled.

“What?” the younger femme whined.

“Nothing.” She snorted.

“It’s the fact that you won’t even tell the mech you like that your interested in him, and that I’m worried that the mech I love has lost interest in me.”

She looked down at the racer, who turned her head in shame.

“Sorry”

“Don’t be.”

There was an awkward silence between the two. Moonracer desperately wanted to say something, anything to break the discomfort. She was afraid that she had offended Firestar with her answer. Although, as she thought about it again, how could she? She’s the one who asked.

She took advantage of the time she had with this femme and asked her only something she would ask only of the team. She was naïve and fascinated at love and she didn’t want to be told what it’s like through a forum chat on the Cybernet. So Moonracer asked the question that had been plaguing her mind.

“Firestar? What does to feel like when kiss someone?”

She looked at her friend intently, but all she got from her was silence. Her nose wrinkled and lips twitched, but silence.

Moonracer was about to think she would never get an answer out of the femme when Firestar slipped the arm off her shoulders and used it to grab her face toward hers, nose to nose.

“It feels a little something like this” She whispered.
