        E FOR EXTINCTION PT. 2

It’s been a week since M.J. had escaped. Jacob had hardly left his house now. Everyone thought that he had helped her escape. Jacob sighed, leaning up against the wall as he heard his door bell ring. “Go away.” Jacob exclaimed, expecting it to be another news reporter. “Jacob! It’s me, Cheyenne and Megan. Can you let us in?” Jacob opened the door a crack. “Is there any reporters out there?” “Nope” Responded Megan. “Good” Jacob said, opening the door, “They seem to be everywhere around here.” Cheyenne froze when she saw Jacob’s face. His face was pale and his eyes had black around them, as though he hadn’t slept in a while. Cheyenne bit her tongue, trying not to ask.  As they walked inside, they saw a couch with a table across from it that had a small glass of water.

After sitting down, Cheyenne looked at Jacob worrilied. He closed the door then walked towards a chair across from the couch. After a few steps, his legs gave way underneath him. Cheyenne ran towards him. “Jacob are you ok!” He glanced towards Cheyenne.”N-no.” Cheyenne picked him up and looked to see if he was hurt. As she lifted up his shirt, Cheyenne could not believe what she saw. He looked like he had lost a lot of weight. “Jacob, why are you doing this?” Jacob looked at Megan, then at Cheyenne. Jacob was about to say something when Megan but in. “I think we should after him for a while Chey. You know to make sure he doesn’t….” She trailed off at the end. They could understand why. Megan has lost her father to suicide not long after she lost her mother. “I think that’s a good idea."

Jacob yawned but they could tell he was trying not to sleep. "Jacob, you need to rest." He shook his head, then looked down at the floor. "Why not?" Megan asked, confused. "It's because... I feel like its my fault that M.J. escaped." He said. Cheyenne sat Jacob down on the chair. "It's not your fault at all.  M.J. just wanted to be with her... new family."

Megan could tell that Cheyenne was trying not to think about her. Cheyenne was Julie’s cousin who had been through almost everything with her. After she lost her sanity, she blamed Cheyenne, saying that she should’ve helped her even though she couldn’t do anything. Later on, M.J. attacked Cheyenne, leaving a permanent scar on her cheek. “You know, every time I snuck into her cell without my mentor looking, she had told me that she regretted everything she did.” Jacob said, half awake. Cheyenne smiled before kissing his head. “Get some rest.” Jacob slowly drifted off, resting his head on Cheyenne’s shoulder.

Megan and Cheyenne carefully lifted Jacob up and slowly walked up the stairs. As they reached his room, a small note was pinned to the door.

I hope you feel better soon.

             ~unknown~

“Weird” Megan said after reading the note. They just ignored it and rested Jacob on his bed. After they threw a blanket on top of him, they quietly closed the door. “Goodnight Jacob” Megan whispered as she closed the door.

“So what you’re telling me is that there still is a prophet!” M.J. snarrled towards her proxy, Christina. “Yes master.” “And you haven’t even bothered to deal with it.” M.J. said, narrowing her eyes.

"Master, would you please let me finish. Yes there is a prophet but she knows nothing about being a prophet. In fact, she hasn't even found the book!" M.J. sat down and thought for a second. After a few minutes, a smile spread across her face. "So that means that our plan can finally start." "Yes master." "Excellent" M.J. jumped off her throne and ran out of the dark room. "Where are you going?" "Hey I've been stuck in the house for the week, I NEED to kill someone." M.J. spread her claw like blades from her glove and ran into the forest.

"Are you ready?" "Yes" Two boys stood in front of the woods.Bright yellow police tape was rapped around all the trees. The moon was just barely a sliver in the sky. Dylan, a short thin boy with short black hair held a camera while Josh stood there with a knife. He too was short but he had brown hair that went down to his shoulders.

                 "Then lets go."
