Description I'm going to hell for this one.

Taken in the River Walk shopping mall, San Antonio Texas.

He was reaching his hands out to me, as if he wanted me to help him, I just raised me camera instead. To further his indignity.

Nikon Em.
50mm lens.
Film Ilford hp5.

If anyone has any advice on developing. Recently I've been getting more grain than usual. I use KODAK D-76.

Hello!

Great picture!
I would like to use your picture for study purposes. I write a composition (a "book" of 20 pages) about this typical child anger by the age of 2 and I am looking for some pictures to show this child expression.

Of course I will credit you, when I have got your permission! (Please give me the name or internet-site which I should use to credit you).

I hope it will be fine!
Thank you!

Yes...but quite honestly the grain adds a lot to his picture. I love it.

poignant... the stark b&w really sets it apart. i feel the emotion of the child and an empathy; i wish i could reach into the photograph to assist!

the grainy creates a nostalgic mood. have u ever developed using lc29. currently, a roll of HP5 filled in my camera...

I've never tried lc29. I just ordered some Kodak xtol. But I might try it next when the xtol is done.

I've found the LC29 is good bang for bucks except with pushed HP5 Plus then I use Microphen.

try kodak trix400. develope it in kodak xtol 1:1, 9min 2-3times movement every 30seconds at 20C°

and expose correctly

Thanks, for the advice. Kodak trix is expensive in my country about 7 euro's, but I hear very good reports about it. I have also ordered some Xtol.

It is a bit on the grainy side, but I think it works for this shot. I like it at least.
Good emotional capture by the way.

Its very good, I don't really know what to say. about the dev problem, maybe try another location with different water supply ie- just another tap, other building. surprising how much the acidity or alkine levels can effect it. that can greatly inluence the accuracy of dev times too. looks like you got a good sharp focus on him though, what % sorta crop was this? an was it standard rating? sorry for all the questions

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Treamus In reply to Kathumane [2007-02-12 22:34:54 +0000 UTC]

It was cropped landscape to portrait but very little, because the height is the same. Rating was standard I think, I might use the darkroom at the Dublin photographic centre, as they have water de_ioniser's there. I've paid a yearly fee already.

ahaa, that might make a big difference. is that like a college or similar institute or just a center for photographic resources?
