Personality:
A highly independent individual, Riku prefers to do everything on her own and doesn't trust others to be capable enough to help her. She's very critical of herself and as well as others although she doesn't voice it out and keep her opinions mostly to herself. This is why she does not attempt to reach out and ask for help when she needs it, and will stubbornly tackle a problem she cannot solve on her own, by herself.
Despite having a very cynical view of the world, Riku still has a very strong sense of justice and will do what she feels is morally right even if she is doubtful of everyone else's intentions. She tries to act cool and tough and distant, but in reality, she just cares too much and doesn't want that to be taken advantaged of.
Underneath all the layers of this onion is just a vulnerable kid who's scared of getting hurt.
History:
Born and raised in an urban city, Riku grew up rather independently. Her parents were both workaholics and so she was left to the care of relatives and babysitters until she was old enough to take care of herself.
However, due to the stress of work life, and daily disagreements, her parent's relationship deteriorated and so, Riku moved to the rural city of Iwamori with her mother after her parents divorced.
Of course, she absolutely hated this, hated the move, hated the change. Her whole world was taken away from her and she was thrown into this unknown place and was forced to leave her friends and everything she'd known behind. It sounds dramatic but in reality everything went pretty smoothly, Riku stayed quiet about her feelings because there was no point. In the end her mother had already made the decision, and voicing out her own frustration was just going to make everything difficult. Nothing would have changed for her. She was acutely aware of her dependency to her mother, and acutely aware of how much her mother had already gone through with the divorce and everything.
She was just going to have to deal with it.
Relationships:
[Parents] Riku has a pretty strained relationship with her parents although she doesn't realise it. She thinks it's pretty normal not to talk to your parents about anything really, and she has no complaints because they have been very good at providing for her needs, food, shelter, financial support. Neither to they force any strict rules or push her to be the most academic student. They have pretty much left her to her own devices.
[Nakamura, Midori] RIku's childhood bestfriend. Riku met her in preschool and they have been inseperable ever since- well until now. The only person Riku trusts with her deepest, darkest secrets. They continue to keep in touch on sns.
Trivia:
- Academically, Riku finds it easy to study, but she min-maxes and does the bare minimum to achieve a B grade. If she pushed herself she could achieve higher, but really, what's the point.
- The reason why she doesn't push herself is to achieve the optimal balance between - 'grades are good enough' and 'cannot be a reason for concern'. This way she can maximise her play time by minimising her study time.
- Love at first sight is a dumb myth and shoujo manga is stupid. Her perception of romance is very pessimistic seeing as her parents had a terrible relationship.

On that day, Shuu learned something that all Grimoire students have always known. Beautiful things are dangerous. For a while he was stunned, lips parted slightly as the dainty girl he thought he knew, mocked him with contempt. Her laughter filled the empty room and he stared at her in a slight daze as his freshly crimson blood dripped down to the table.
