I'm glad you like it, especially since she's one of my favorites as well!
... xP Really though, using IMVU for this stuff mostly just means that I'm pulling the fashions from a 'wardrobe' of sorts, rather than creating that fashion myself.
I do consider it a challenge. I found it very hard initially, to find the kind of skins and hair and body types that I wanted to put IN my IMVU wardrobe. In fact, I had to commission many of the more interesting skins, simply because they wouldn't carry it in the darker hues. Also, using the African American female head on my avatar usually means that not all accessories will work right...people just tend not to use it, so accessories tend to be made for the other heads instead.
But, to pull together the different elements in order to tell a story, to mix and match clothing types, or maybe use the clothing in an unexpected way: to me, that's where the fun is! 
xD Heh, you'll see soon enough though, what my art is *really* like. There's an afro contest I'm going to enter into in January. I can't draw for anything, but if I can blow them away with the design of it, then maybe I'll at least make a respectable showing!
