This was originally supposed to be a doodle.Then it gained a life of it's own.
It ain't perfect, but practice always helps.
Yes, Soul wears puffy, metallicy coats.
Inspired by how the weather has gotten much colder up here in Canada.

It's weird because I feel like I've gone backwards in skill...due to my crappy graphics tablet, I can't draw any careful lines, so everything comes out sketchy and I can't achieve the quality of lineart or detail that I could before...but now I've got colour...so it's a weird trade off.

I know exactly what you mean. When I got my graphics tablet, I naively thought that my digital work would be so much better, but it's so different that its like learning all over again. I love being able to undo/redo things if course and the ease if editing is great, but my traditional work (in my opinion) is far better than my digital.

Traditional work is easier to produce, definitely, but it always looks better in person and doesn't translate as well to being online...I keep feeling like if I had a better tablet I could get my lineart to improve slightly (I got my tablet second hand from my brother. You have to keep it tilted at a certain angle to make sure it keeps working and you have to draw in quick little lines because it goes shaky when you try to take your time on detail) but then I think to myself: Stop complaining and just try improving using your own skills!

Agreed. Even if you have a great scanner, it never looks quite the same. Your tablet sounds like a pain to use... good luck! I'm quite enjoying making pixel art at the moment (like my avatar), which doesn't need a specialist tablet or anything, and I'm learning a lot
