I know I said I was eager to get back to other forms of art, but I had been planning on this as a final send-off to the commissioned custom card series! With a full 120 comissions, I was finally able to take all those sprites I created of the characters in the Ragnarok Online fans Card Fighters Clash set and make a "group shot" pic. To keep this from turning into a cheesy rehash of my previous spritework, I put some effort into making a pixel-art background of Prontera (or rather ... wooden frames, trees, and sky)--and a banner to hang in front of the group. (That banner almost looks like something you'd see at NASCAR races though, eheh ... )

In fact, the general idea of this group shot was inspired by a tradition held by a Star Fox fan community I used to be affiliated with ("Mouthoff!" which turned into "Starfox.net" over time). Over the years of its existence several artists made group pics of the community members, with a banner stating the community's name and the year.

I started working on this the day the final commission batch was finished, but a gauntlet of things slowed me down--not least of which, one of my hard drives is failing and I had some fun with trying to salvage data off it.

I had some fun with placing the individual characters--the way I wound up drawing a few of them had potential for hilarity, and I hope I reasonably exploited that. Not to mention emphasizing just how many people commissioned me and wanted cards made for their high priestesses ... a majority (but hardly all) of them are in the center front row. Meanwhile, most of the first classers--rare as we are--are in the very center of the pic. It's too bad no one commissioned a thief character or there'd be at least one of each first class ...
