Not much is to be found in the records regarding the 200 year war between the two empires.
Old tales tells that the moon, home of the "Independant Guilds", cracked during the final battle fought on both the surface of the planet, the moon and in the tight bloodfilled space between the two masses.

Archeologists suggests the use of an enormous fuision-based weaponry made the final impact, whch apparently tore apart the moon and shattered its mass into the planets orbit.
Almost instantly, the smaller of the remains of the moon got caught in the planets strong gravity, whch resulted in a year-long bombardment of moon-remainings, derelict spaceships and corpses.

After just three years both civilizations were only to be found in the memories........
