Description Here is the process that I went through to make Weeping Angel wings.  There are made of mat board and craft foam, as pictured at the top.  I made four cut outs of the over all wing shape from the mat board.  Then glued two together to make one wing  That is why there is a pile of books  I was using them to put pressure on the two pieces while they glued.  Mat board is strong and durable it also has some good flex to it.  Another benefit the mat board gives is that it is thin so the wing didn't come out to bulky.  When they were dried I placed them up on blocks and put a heavy block in the middle to give a bend to them so when I mounted them they looked more natural.

Then came the process of figuring out each individual feather for both sides.  I cut out the paper patterns then cut two of the foam versions out.  Then the tedious task of placing the feathers, working form the under feathers and building up until both sides of both wings were covered.

Then came the item that would hold the wings.  It is a solid board cut at a 35 degree angle to make the wings flow out from her back at an angle instead of strait out.  Then using a thin strip of wood on the opposite side I attached the wings to the board.  I had worked out the placement of the straps earlier on the girl so I knew what fit best.  Then it was down to painting which I used a stone texture spray paint.  Twas a lot of work.

Finished view and angel view coming soon.
