He was a legendary Frisian warrior, who fought the Dutch.

"Bûter, Brea en Griene tsiis, wa dat net sizze kin is gean oprjochte Frys"

("Butter, bread and green cheeze, whoever can't say those words, is not a Frisian")

He said those words too see if his foes where Frisian or Dutch! If you were a Dutch, you can't say that line...and Grutte Pier would kill them!
