The idea behind these two photos was to try and capture something of the massive, uncontrolled growth spurt that is Calgary, AB.

Along with the affluence and the promise of well paying jobs, the cost of living in this city has skyrocketed to among the highest in Canada. Retail shops and services have to close their doors early, because they don't have enough staff; no one in Calgary can afford to work a minimum wage job.

As a result of the boom, the underpriviledged are finding things are becoming further and further out of reach. You can see the money in this city, but as in this photo, there are barriers.
