Looks like that bird lost in his battle with that muscle shell he was trying to peck open.
As the bird pecked away that muscle held tight and wore that bird out. As the bird turned it's back to the muscle for a moments rest, the muscle popped up and with a quick "snap, snap, CHOMP" the poor bird lost it's head.
And so the muscle looked out to sea, while sitting next to the dead bird, basking in the glory of beating the bird.

Yea I am curious as to why the blue colors...when alive they don't seem so prominent. The water is very cold and perhaps that has something to do with it. Or he was just a "blue blood bird"
