It ain't the phone...it's the photographer jk
Yeah the camera isn't so bad in the iPhone's but only at the wide angle end. Zoom in on something and the image "falls apart". That's because it's not a true zoom. It only enlarges the wide angle shot. The new iPhone 7 Plus, 8's and 10 have a dual lens system. One for wide and one for telephoto.
And thank you so very much Doris for liking both the image and the music selection You had great music in your youth...I love it

Corvidae65 In reply to ??? [2017-10-10 02:53:45 +0000 UTC]

That song is one of my earliest memories of music of any kind.  I was 4 when the song came out in 1969 and I discovered my older sisters 45 record collection.  I remember watching the label on the 45 go 'round and 'round on the record player over and over and over again then, one day, I couldn't find the record!   I looked high and low--well, as high as a 4 year old can look, anyway.  I asked my mom where it might be and all she did was roll her eyes.  I finally gave up looking because a new record had caught my attention--Solitary Man by Neil Diamond.  Remember the Bang! label, Richard?  That long old pistol on the label and the word balloon with Bang! on it going 'round and 'round, over and over and over again.  That record disappeared too after a while, but that was O.K. by me because Melanie had 'Brand New Key' and Paul Revere and the Raiders were' Hungry'.  (I often wondered why, if they were so hungry, why they just didn't get a bite to eat ) Ah!  The good old days of music!  I"m almost grateful for the mystery of the disappearing 45s--it brought more great music to me to replace it.

What a charming recollection...a story well told. But a cliff-hanger. Where the hell did the records keep disappearing too? Dang it...inquiring minds need to know
The players are still around I hope...ask them. I suspect mom. She didn't want any of that commie rhetoric fogging up the minds of her children
Or perhaps there was someone like me who kept asking to borrow the record and would end up never giving it back. It's the economic way to build a record collection
I have a ton of vinyl music...probably a few tons...and yes that Bang label logo I have seen. It's so awesomely graphic...nice yellow and black. Couldn't miss it and once seen always remembered in spite of any indirect attempts that might thwart that recollection
Do you think I laugh at my own jokes too often? Oops there I go again.
Thanks so much for the well written comment, John It brought back some memories of the days of vinyl and cassette tape and Walkman's...good times

You're welcome, Richard--just some stray memories brought up by your music selection
I think the records wound up in the same place single socks and my cap guns went--Living it up in the Hotel California honky-tonk behind the dryer where they can check in but they can never leave. *guitar solo!!!*
Nah--mom never had anything to say about the music I listened to EXCEPT in the case of KISS (Kings In Satan's Service, dontchaknow?)  On that point she vigorously and  voluminously expounded!
I don't have any cassettes anymore   Or 8-tracks or even any vinyl.  I do have 6,000 CDs in the garage though and I REFUSE to give in to the evil MP3 player or the hated iTunes   Ain't gonna happen!
I did check out Meral's work--the example you posted was intriguing!  I wish it was a bit bigger so I could read the words making up the fence line.  Thanks for sharing!

Trippy4U In reply to Corvidae65 [2017-10-11 17:38:04 +0000 UTC]

Possibly so. Watch out for lost socks, they're organizing and learning
Wow...that's an impressive amount of music. Someday, if you have an already compiled list, note me a copy. I love reading who people are through their musical tastes and perhaps I could "borrow" a few that I may not already own
I have a ton of CD's too which I have converted to MP3's because when the iPod came out I just had to utilize that technology of being able to have "my music" with me everywhere. I also converted much of my vinyl collection to MP3's too. I don't subscribe to any "pay for play" music services like iTunes or whatever...and like you, never will.
I'm so glad that you did check out Meral's work and that you found it as compelling as I did. The words are in Turkish...so unless you can read that language you're still not going to know what the heck they say. I think I recall asking her once, through Google Translate, what they told and I think she said...nothing really. Just a jumble of letters randomly placed. Which to me makes a whole lot more sense because deeds, not words, say so much more.

Sure, Metal deserves such a fine gift.

In a way, music/imagery makes me think that we can change our opinions (leaves), but we can not lose our principles (roots). Great work, dear Richard,

I like that, leaves/roots > opinions/principles. Just one minor alteration. Instead of "can not", should not. Because surely many have lost or never had any principles in their whole lives.
