In France 9% but we have social protection, so crisis is not so hard as US. But usually crisis last more than US and growth is not as tall as US because this social protection. So even in growth period we have a high unemployment rate

Social protection? Is that like our Unemployment Insurance? This pays laid off workers some monies for X amount of weeks but eventually runs out. The intention is to help workers until they find a new job. If they don't, then the next step is Welfare which is something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

In France, it'isn't facultative, financed by employees and firms. The allocation is in fonction of your previous pay and for one year with diminutions during this year. After you have an allocation for reinsertion and free medical care

No I think we have one of the most protection for unemployment and for care. That's a good think in crisis time for persons but not always for our growth!

Thanks Stam...things must be bad when the best thing is the title
This is going to be a series on that structure and its contents. It was called US Gympson ( not sure if that's spelled correctly) That whole complex of buildings employed 100's of men and fed 100's more in their families before its demise and mainly produced building materials with the top one being sheetrock/wallboard. Industry is pretty much a thing of the past for America. We are a tech/services country these days. Hardly anything is produced here anymore...we import almost everything we use to produce, most imports are from China, it seems.

A good title always enhances a good picture!
China produces everything these days
When they improve the quality of their products
they're going to financially conquer the whole world!
I think it's time for us to learn Chinese
D700 you're a rich man Richard!

Only in name and cameras. My Nikon collection: Fm2, 8008s, F4, Two F5's, D70s, D200, D300, D700. I don't sell anything although I should have sold the film cameras when people still wanted them. Now I'd be giving them away because the price I can get is barely 1/10 of what I paid for them. So I keep them and the memories they provided. I still use the F5's. To me that was the greatest machine Nikon ever built...a masterpiece...and now just about an obsolete relic. Yeah, China is about to take it all...for how long it will last...who knows...except one thing is for certain...nothing lasts forever.

Wow, will you adopt me? My Nikon collection pales in comparison. I have an N80 (my first camera), an F5 (love that camera, but the cost of film and developing is prohibitive), and a S210. I have access to a D80 and a D90 when I want to use them. I need to start saving soon for a new camera.

ok, I'll put you down as a dependent on my income tax
Steve (is that your name?) Nice, I agree the Nikon F5 is a gem. One way to off-set the cost of using film is to do it yourself. Set up a darkroom (all components are dirt cheap now). Then the only major cost is the film itself.
I want the Nikon D3x a 24.5 megapixel brute. But I am not going to pay $8000.00 for a camera that will be $4000.00 in a couple of years. I wouldn't have paid the $3000.00 I spent on the D700 except that I wanted the 1:1 FX ratio in a digital format. I like to know that when I put an 50mm (or whatever focal length lens chosen) that it is what it says it is. I'm so used to looking at a scene and deciding which focal length I want to use to capture it without having to use the 1:5 ratio factor. Another thing I noticed with an FX format, because the sensor is larger, is that noise is greatly reduced and the sharpness of cropped images holds up very well. I still love film because no banding occurs and the depth of the tones, to me, fall where they are suppose too.

Hey Richard. Yeah, it's Steve.
I'd love to set up a darkroom, unfortunately, I live with three other people and only one bathroom. . I also have never worked with a darkroom. I do agree though, film has a depth that digital has yet to achieve.
Doesn't everyone want the D3x? I'm looking at the D300 now. I see the price has fallen some since the rumor of a D300s has started to appear.

Good choice...I have one and find it to be a formidable machine. Get it with the MD-10 grip...it'll boost the frames per sec to 8 from the default of 5...if you need that speed, I do because I shoot sports a lot. Plus it's more comfortable to hold albeit heavier.
Ahh, the old bathroom dark room...sweet memories.
I thought so, but I saw El Stevo on your page.

I'd like to get one soon, but it will have be awhile. Ah, the burden of limited funds.
I would definitely get the grip. I shot some (380+) pictures for a friends dance school performance yesterday with the borrowed D80, and shot a lot of them vertical. When I finished, my hands were numb. I don't necessarily need the extra speed, but the extra shutter release would be great. It's one of my favorite features on my F5.

Ahhh yes, part of what I called "comfortable to hold." And when shooting that many images...its a God send to have the veritcal shutter release. D90 is a cool machine too and cheaper than the D300. Nikon has remedies of every prescription
Let me start a war,
Yah Nikon

Looking forward to seeing some of those images and others by you Steve.
