Wow, another gem I missed! I love the tones, the texture, the composition - a very satisfying image.

ahhh...yes one my favorites from that series. The original print blows this away as it does with many of them. Most were shot with film and then scanned.
Quality suffered but the gist of it still remains.
Thx so much Greg...always appreciated

Yeah, it's unfortunate that the scans often don't do justice to the original in terms of tonal depth. I love my prints, can't see myself completely abandoning the darkroom for some years yet. I'm not sure if you've had the same experience, but when I use a scanner to convert directly from the neg, the results have been quite disappointing. I prefer to make a print onto paper in the darkroom, and scan that. The result is usually much superior. Of course, it could just be that I don't know what I'm doing and that I need to put in more effort to master the software, but so far I can't say I'm much impressed with the results of neg scanning. Did you scan the neg or the print? I gotta say it looks pretty darn good, so the original print must be spectacular.

Yeah same here. I have a flat bed scanner that has a neg scanner built in. But so many dust spots show up on the neg scans and I spend hours just spotting them in PS. I gave up even trying anymore. Maybe some day I'll buy a real neg scanner. So in the meantime I too will make a print and scan from that and even that loses a lot of the depth that a silver film print has. Yes I scan from prints that I print in my darkroom...which like you, I will never abandon. Its my sanctuary

The year is 2012, We've reached Industrial Ghost MM. Trippy finally replies to Wobbly's note. Just a little nudge.

This is great. The metallic look comes through in this well. Elevator?

Shit, my college habits still have not worn off...I'm the great procrastinater. My deep apology. I have to finish that for sure. I answered the first three.

Thanks Steve. No, not an elevator. It was a part of some larger machine...something like a chute. I'm not really sure what it was used for.

That's a good start. You're almost halfway done. .

Don't tell people you procrastinate, tell them you are pondering all the possibilities.

Chuting people?

You are not going to believe this but now my cousin died a few days ago. It's like death has found our family and is having a field day devouring all who turn their back on him. He was 40 years old and they just found him dead on the floor of his home. We are waiting for the autopsy report.
