Interesting; the strong contrast and uplighting creates a claustrophic air to this one, it looks like the beam from a flashlight held by a person working underground.

Tour? Well yes, but it was a solo tour in which I was the tour guide and the tourist
I know I found it interesting, when I saw your posts of an urban factory, that we both happened upon the same subject at just about the same time. Cool, maybe we have started a whole new genre of photography

Trippy, seriously, you are the best when it comes to bringing out the detail in B&W. I love the grittiness of this shot

Yes it does have a surreal look because of the textures...thank you Franca.
This guy was behind the door. He asked me if I wanted to buy some white powder

I don't know...maybe he was selling fairy dust or cocaine or just plain old factory dust...maybe he wasn't there at all...maybe I have asbestos poisoning and imagined the whole thing.
Hey the upside down laughing guy is cool. I saw him behind the door too...he was hanging with
He seemed batty to me

ooh, what's behind that door? someone's bathing? jk
joking aside, i really really like that texture on the wall, door, ceiling and not just the ones that come from the grain. and i like the feeling of this image too, very Resident Evil-ly btw i FINALLY got the Ilford 3200 film!

Thank you M. Yeah this one is about texture, geometrical shapes and tonality.
Hmm, I love Ilford film...although I don't recall ever using their 3200. To me Ilford tended to be a smoother grain and a less contrasty film than Kodak. I will be very interested to see the results of this film. I like Kodak's Tmax 3200 because of its grain and its contrast. I guess I should get a brick of Ilford's 3200 and put it through some paces to see its benefits and limitations. I look forward to seeing your results with it.

seems that they don't carry Tmax3200 here. i went to shoot a model with 3200 just now so i'm damn excited to see the result and praying hard it won't be a mess. anyway Rich, is developing 3200 film any different than developing like, 400? the process and timing, are they the same?

Trippy4U In reply to MargarethHS [2009-07-19 19:49:03 +0000 UTC]
The process is the same, the time is different. Each box of film comes with a little sheet that gives the recommended developing technique. But those are only their suggestions. Once you do it yourself you'll find your own. Depending on the scene and what effect you want. For example when doing the agitation during the developing of the film, if you agitate longer and harder each cycle...that kicks up grain and contrast even more. Interesting use of this film...for modeling...I can't wait to see your results either.
