Benched is a baseball term in which a player sits on the bench in the dugout instead of playing in the game. The bad boys of baseball sooner or later will end up there by the coach's decree. If they misbehave or just aren't getting the job done in the field they get benched. Just like my ol' Applejack here who was benched by me for being a good bad boy. He is now two years old and as crazy as the day he was born but oh such a good player when he wants to be. Bulldogs can be stubborn. But not as stubborn as me
